Though this isn't a true mountain it still represents all the wonderful aspects of such. To get the best out of this whole area pop into the tourist information office diagonally opposite the train station in Denia. This provides a free guide of 6 walks in English - five of which pass on to, over or round the Montgo. Take... More

This area between Denia and Javea is full of beautiful walks and views, go to San Antonio lighthouse at the end of the main road and enjoy the tremendous views over Javea bay. On a clear day Ibiza can be seen in the distance !! This park was devastated by a fire a couple of years ago ,areas have been... More

I would recommend this place to the hikers who are used to climbing ect, not first timers. My husband took my five year old and my 13 year old, not a good idea for the younger ones. Path became less visible and they got lost. Although by the sounds if it, it was a fun adventure with stunning views.

We ascended the Montgo in July and arrived for 7am as the heat gets unbearable. Be warned water is essential and walking boots are preferable if climbing from the side closest to Javea. The ascent for us, two 19 year old males took around an hour and a half up and down. Be prepared for some harsh terrain, especially when... More

This is a beautiful area, good for walkers. There are several routes signposted. This is not for the faint hearted. Proper walking footwear needed and you should always take plenty of water. Amazing views well worth the climb.

Rising above the Montgo Natural Park is the 735m Montgo mountain. It is possible to climb, recommended with a guide to walk to the top. From the top, on a clear day, you can view the island of Ibiza. Natural flora ... wild rosemary, palms and varied mediterranean plants, vineyards. Well worth a visit.
