This hotel was clean in the lobby, halls and elevators. The room was clean when we arrived. It was also spacious and adequate. This hotel charges a surprise resort fee of $20 and all they have to offer is a pool and a hot tub. The pool and hot tub are both in need of a good cleaning. The hot tub was very sudsy and you could see dirt in the suds. There is also a ring of black around the edge of the hot tub. There were teens in the pool area vaping. They seemed to think that they couldn’t get into trouble. It seemed very odd to us. The food in the buffet is terrible, don’t try it. We would not stay at this hotel again.

Cliff Castle Casino is an older, relatively small casino with a very nice, non smoking area within the casino. Many of the machines are older with a few new machines. For kids, they have a relatively large bowling alley and a few restaurants. We had lunch at the Johnny Rockets and it was very good.

I've always been curious about the Casino Hotel, but based on my recent experience booking business travel, I think I'll pass. On the day I completed the online booking, I attempted to call the hotel numerous times throughout the day in order to request a credit card authorization form and was passed along to voicemail. I then sent a request via the guest services e-mail I found on their site only to receive no reply. I was finally able to reach someone toward the end of business day the next day and was displeased with the frigidness of the call. I hope our employees stay turns out well.

Rumor has it improvements are coming to Cliff Castle Casino...
As the Cliff Castle Casino website says the poker room will remain closed- but rumor has it another round of casino renovations are planned to start in June 2021. While the former poker room has been used for smokers during the pandemic, we can't help but wonder if it may also undergo a bit of transformation. Past renovations have always placed good ventilation in the casino at the bottom of the list, so don't be too fast to congratulate the management. For at least 12 years the Casino has had poor ventilation. Social media reviews showed the smoke, at times was a huge drawback on the main casino floor. Now the smoking lounge in the former poker room could actually double as a smoke chamber where local fire fighters could practice blind extractions of trapped people. But someone does care enough to have added an oscillating fan in there. And when the smoke cloud gets too dense security is called in to vent the cloud through a guarded exterior door. Even if you aren't a smoker you'll soon see the ventilation problems in that former poker room point to a poor overall ventilation system in the casino. Just think, if slot machines were installed in that room, it wouldn't be long before people playing and smoking in there begin to fall off their chairs. And in case that's not enough action for you, the casino's security staff will remain outside the glass doors, with pen and paper in hand- as they will note their observations of the casualties. All kidding aside, it remains to be seen if top managers at Cliff Castle Casino and Hotel will ever think to prioritize the casino's unhealthy ventilation system as part of their renovations. In the meantime, I suppose there is some useful attraction in allowing the public to see what could double as a smoke chamber, right inside the casino. The casino should toss out those uncomfortable chairs at the Strata bar. Guess the public either has to accept the lack of comfort and low payouts or hit the road. Spend 1-2 hours tops!

If I rate this experience a ZERO I would. We had a block of rooms for my daughters wedding you would expect them to be on the same floor NOPE. If you are going to have a fun time with family and friends this is not the place! We had two people in our party get sent to the room for being to intoxicated, now in my experience that means you are falling down drunk and out of control! Not just being boisterous and silly around a roulette table. This security made everyone feel as though they were being watched every moment, security is supposed to be discreet! Not make you feel uncomfortable! I saw so many people getting pulled over right as they were entering the casino parking lot. I wasn’t sure if this was a trap! Or if it’s just a bad area? They charged me for three rooms on my credit card, I only had two, 24% room tax. 20 dollar per person resort fee, typically you get a standard resort fee per room.

Casino has the tightest slots we’ve ever encountered and that’s saying a lot since I’ve lived in Atlantic city and currently in Las Vegas. No taxi service available which is disappointing to learn after having a few cocktails with dinner and the gambling. We recommend going in here solely to eat at Storytellers restaurant

CCC has really tighten down their slots. They weren't very good (payoffs) before Covid but now for-get-about-it. Just go flush your money down your toilet. Terrible payoffs, e.g. progressive machines barely pay even a 1000 bucks. There is no entertainment with this casino; seems like CCC is trying to make up for lost revenue due to the pandemic. If you just want to give money away, give it to a food bank NOT CCC! Won't be going back.

Since they have opened the new hotel. Guest are no longer winning. Much less friendly. They lost what they bragged about a few years ago. They give you a rate of $29.00 for at room. What they don't tell you is that it is at the old motel below. If you want to pay $230.00 a night , then you can stay in the new hotel. You can tell that employees are not happy and the high turnover they have. They want to be the Talking Stick Resort of Camp Verde. Lol I have seen guests so upset and of course they call security on them for complaining I have seen an ederly lady escorted out by five security guards. A little over kill. I queasy they were afraid she might hurt the big host. Haha

Until the recent pandemic the choices in the restaurants were plentiful and tasty. We have not eaten there for some time. The facility is clean and the machines appear to be sanitized after each use. My complaint is that compared to other casinos in the state...primarily in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff...the payoffs seem lower. It could be a coincidence, of course, but money seems to last longer at the other casinos. Also, the bonus gift events seem more generous. Since the goal of every casino is to make money this all comes as no surprise. My point is that other casinos seem to offer more bang for the buck.

Since the nearby Distant Drums RV park was full to capacity, we did some online research for a place to stop for the night on our way back from Durango. There were conflicting answers on the web so we pulled in to the lower (north) lot of this casino. There were absolutely no vehicles in the 2 acre paved lot and there were no signs prohibiting RV overnight parking but we decided to do the right thing and called the casino. A very nice gentleman answered and said we would just need to go up to the casino to get a parking permit. In fact he sent a shuttle to pick us up and take us up to the casino. We also wanted to check out the restaurant for supper. We inquired about the restaurant and if it was okay to stay over in the lower lot. A curt woman at the desk said we had to join their "Castle Club" and gain a certain number of "points" (spend x number of our dollars). We are not big gamblers but joined as requested and played for a spell on casino money. We ended up winning a small amount and when we were ready to go, we went again to secure the permit. No such luck. We didn't spend any of "our" money. Again the same woman was just plain rude and said those are the rules. I couldn't even buy a parking permit.
We left without the permit or supper and pulled across the street to the big dirt lot. It was fine. As we were ready to leave in the morning, we saw 3 RVs and an 18 wheeler in the paved lot. Perhaps they were club members....or just didn't ask for permission. We won't be going there for any reason in the future.
