I sure wish I had known about the free audio tour app before I left the hotel with wifi. I could never get it to install while roaming on my data plan. Look for it on Google Play and Apple Store. Search for "Peniscola".

This castle is very well worth the trip. Save yourself; take a taxi up to the castle, and stroll back down.

Have visited a few castles and this was one of the best- amazing history and well set out. Grey show by the actors doing the tour guide- couldn’t understand any of it but very entertaining anyway! Must see in Peniscola 👍🏼

Excellent half a day looking round the castle had some lunch/ tapas in the cobbled streets of the old town and then looked around the artillery gardens in the afternoon, all on the same ticket. If you are over 60 you get a reduced admission

Not in the old town. We parked in a larger car park under the prom. It was enormous but worth the cost.
