A fun family stroll, though pushing the stroller is tiring.
May 2021 • Family
The peñíscola castle is very beautiful. Our family enjoyed the stroll towards the castle with all the nicely decorated shops, and restaurants. And the cobble-stoned path is very beautiful, though it's making the stroller-pushing harder.

We were a bit disappointed though because we were not able to enter the castle because according to the guard it's not good for families with strollers since there are a lot of stairs. He said that we can leave the stroller once inside, but it's none of their business just in case the stroller gets stolen. So, we decided to just skip exploring the castle.

Lots of interesting history, very well preserved and a lot of information in English. It really is worth a visit. €5 entry and €3.50 for over 60s. Very impressive.

Cute little town with a lot to offer
Jul 2020
This castle is right at the beach which gives a unique view while relaxing at the beach. You can also walk inside. The majority of the place is free to enter. One piece of the castle is with a small fee to enter. I think it was the inside of the castle. However, you can enjoy the place without entering the fee area.

A must see if in Peñiscola. The entrance fee is €5 euro p.p. You can explore the rooms inside the castle, get information about old and recent history of the castle, go up the top of the castle and look out over the rest pf Peñiscola (the best part) and also access the castle gardens, which require you to go outside and walk around the castle a bit.

Vey nice Medieval fortress
Jul 2020 • Friends
Peñíscola Castle is a Medieval Fortress located in the homonymous coastal town, in the North of Castelló Region. In fact, it is also known by Papa Luna Castle. It was built at the beginning of the 14th Century by Templar Knights and after here lived Papa Luna. Nowadays, it is possible to visit the castle and see the very beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the town. We came here at the end of July and there is not some people due to covid. It is a pity!
