We went off season (October) and it was still hot. We were recommended to go to a beach here (playa pobret) and it took us a while to get there by car as the road is not paved and can be dusty and bumpy. It was worth it. The beaches were deserted, the sea warm and the views back towards Peñiscola stunning. Take water and a packed lunch as there are no facilities, but it's great fun. Lots of people walk this route and there are plenty of landmarks and pretty views on the way. It took us aboiut 40 mins to get to Pobret from the city.

If you want time and space to think and wonder at nature, take a walk in the Sierra de Irta. I recommend not in summer - unless early morning - it's too hot. All other times of year are lovely, but Spring is the best with the wild flowers. Always take water and a 'phone as it's very isolated. And you need to be fairly fit, but on the other hand I'm not fit, I just take my time, rest whenever I want and stop to take in the scenery and scan for birds. There is one round trip which takes 2 or 3 hours, or just go to Torre Badum and back, or up the first mountain and down to Mas del Senor and come back - in just 1 or 2 hours. I don't give an 'excellent' rating as I think the maps given by the tourist info are poor, and the signage can be difficult, particularly on the longer routes, so take care and don't get lost!

Reading many of the reviews before this we decided to park our car about 2 km away from the Torre Badum and hiked up to it. We didn’t need to, the road was totally driveable with a couple of narrow passages. (If you have driven much in Spain you will see that this drive is no big deal compared to many of the other roads we have been on). We did a hike past the Torre that was suggested through Wikiloc and it was amazing! We walked past several coves and beaches that our teens were quick to get into. Well worth the drive from Peniscola for sure, don’t miss this!!

I went by bike. Excellent roads, wide and nice. It is easy with some downs and lights, so it is perfect for a nice and smooth relaxing trip. Almost all the road is dirt/rocks with a few pavement areas. I went before 8 am so it was almost empty. After 9:00-10:00 am people arrives. I was surprised to find such a nice roads for bike and hike so close to civilization but in a very very good and natural condition. Highly recommended.

A gravel road and very bumpy road through the park which can make for a slow drive. There are pretty beaches and stopping points along the way which are barely visited and provides a lot of privacy.

with a SUV or sth. similar, and of course by bike or as a hiker, this place is great. Rocky cliffs with very small sandy beaches, almost no tourists, nudity allowed (if you want), untouched nature and a stunning view of the castle of Peniscola

Visited in late October but we were lucky to have some nice warm weather. Walked thru the park and found a nice beach were we swam and lay in the sun. Nice scenery and great location to take the family for a day or even for private get-a-way ! :)

The distance from Alcoceber to Peñiscola by bike inside the Park and following the trails is about 20 - 22 Km (one way). Easy ride by bike (hard for kids). Highly recommended. Bring water and food. There are a few places with small calas (mini beaches) where you can rest during the trip.

Gracias

Gracias.
