Definitely one of the most interesting places to visit in the old town. The square is quite different from other Plazas Mayor, with beautiful, different buildings around it. Very quaint!

Beautiful old square. Wonderful buildings all around. You really must look up, when the clock strikes! We had traditional dancing taking place on the Saturday evening whilst we were there. Lots of places to eat and people watch. Good for sitting in or out of...More

We normally eat at one of the many restaurants in this plaza when we stay in Plasencia. For two years running in June we have been treated to a massive collection of motorcycle at the culmination of a rally.

If in the old town you will walk though the plaza mayor, a few restaurants and bars, old buildings . All streets seem to lead here, Do not attempt to take a car into the old town.

Relaxing place to sit and drink coffee. Great market here weekly. Centre of the town for sure, with lots happening.

Best in the evening with lots of life going on .Lots of locals having their drinks and eat at 9-10 at night. Good tapas bars towards the cathedral.

Lovely Plaza, a major intersection point for many streets. It also serves as a fruit/veg/produce market, like a farmer's market. It's lined with lovely bars and restaurants too to keep you busy. Definitely worth pottering around and great spot for people watching.

The Plaza Mayor of Plasencia is relatively small compared to those of larger cities, but it is a very enjoyable place to relax, have a drink, and watch a slice of Spanish life. It is also a pathway to many streets with very nice shops...More
