Walked through Begur in earlY morning. Nice walk, good exercise, a few others walking too. When you reach the top great vista's. Castle isn't much to see, just for the views. Explanation in English at the top near the castle ruins. No charge.

When you are around Begur treat yourself to a walk up. The views across to the mountains, down to the sea and across the town itself are magnificent. There are benches along the way if you want/need to rest.

A beautiful view and you've got a parking which is maybe 15 minutes away from the castle. If you are lucky you can drive up and get a parking. Stunnig view of the town and the costa brava long with a view of the islands (Illes Medes).

We ordered a goat cheese salad with mixed greens....it was the best I ever had. Even the pesto spaghetti was yum. My daughter loved her tomato penne pasta. Its a family run restaurant which makes it even more special. They attend to all details very well.

If you are in Begur this is a highlight. It is a steep hike on paved roads and trails perhaps 20 minutes above either of the parking lots. You could drive and try for a parking space near the start of the final trail but you'd miss the workout and the walk through the narrow lanes of the town. The views are impressive.

This is a great little 10-15 min walk up a hill to get a great view. The ruins are not much but fun to see. Go a clear day.

In the center of Begur you'll find the Old Castle. Through a nice street with stairs and old tipical houses of the area you'll get to this Castle. Views are incredible from there and you can see Begur from the sky, and Cap de Creus and Les Illes Medes. The best place to take pictures of the Costa Brava. Worth a visit!!!!

Begur is such a really quaint medieval village with lots of great character and charm. the central square has lots of bars and eating spots and a delight to watch the world go by. Parking is as always in these places a pain but there is a car park area just as you enter so use it dont try to find anywhere else, not possible.

A great way to take a walk in Begur. Take the long way by going anti-clockwise from the Placa down Carrer Bonaventura Carreras towards the back car park and following the Castel signposts. Otherwise go more directly from the Place up Carrer Pi I Rallo but this shortcut has many places where there are steps. The view from the Castel is exceptional with a 360 view all round. Pity the Adjuntamenta don't keep it a bit cleaner and better maintained. However still a must do for any visitor to Begur.
Afterwards rerurn to the Plac and visit the Bar de la Placa where Emilio, Xavier and Juan will look after your needs both comestible and potable. This is the place where you can sit every evening and watch the world go by. Tourists from every country in Europe further afield visit Begur. This year however the tiger mossies were very active. I have never been more eaten before and will have to assess the timing of future visits.
