Got tickets from the Visitor Center for a tour-there are about 50 spots for each tour. Tours start at 9am and go every 30 minutes. We got to the visitor center at 8am and the next available tour was at 12:30. Decided to just do...More

Memorable ranger led tour. Difficult for some as climbing and crouching through passageways is required. My 13 year old daughter especially liked this.

Grab tickets ahead of time at the Welcome Center in Cortez, the museum and shop at the park entrance, or the museum and shop on the Mesa. The ranger will let you know how physically challenging this tour is so be aware of your limitations....More

cant recommend this enough. the guides are superb and you will never forget the experience. There is a bit of stair ladder climbing and some pretty narrow tunnels to manage.

First, you should know that you need to buy tickes to see anything. Mesa Verde has become so popular that the Park Service had to manage visits to prevent damage to the site. Understandable, but unfortunate. So, you buy tickets for one of the scheduled...More

Incredible how the early Pueblo people were so resourceful. Our park ranger was wonderful and you truly need to spend several days exploring this gorgeous National Park. The tour of the Balcony House was very informative, but you definitely cannot be afraid of heights.

We were lucky enough to get a ticketed tour to see Bacony House. Make sure you get a ticketed tour. This place is so awesome, especially if you have children and/or teenagers. If you do not have a ticketed tour, you really won't get the...More

Balcony House was fantastic! We had a great guide who painted a picture of what it would have been like to live there and pointed out all sorts of interesting details. However, if you are severely afraid of heights or claustrophobic, this may not be...More

From Wisconsin? First, get to Mesa Verde, closest significant town is Cortex, CO. Then either with a rental car or your own, drive to the Mesa Verde Visitors' Center. Get a park map and get a ticket for the tour. I... More
Visiting all the way from Nashville. I have one day to spend there. How likely am I to get tickets to the Cliff House/Balcony House on (and for) the day I arrive? Thanks!

It depends what time you arrive. If you arrive when the Visitor Center opens you should be ok. Ideally, if your schedule permits, arrive the day before and purchase for the following morning.
