It was more of a dramatic beach with big rocks in the middle of the swimming area than a beach I would recommend for swimming. I might add that the 2 days in Llanes were the only 2 rainy/overcast days of the trip - so while I went in the water briefly it was quite cold yet invigorating. The beach... More

Nice beach. The limestone crags that protrude along the beach add an interesting feature (& a easy place to change!). The sea is not great for swimming in as it is quite rocky in places. Good view of the Llanes painted cubes from the headland above the beach. All in all, a good family place to visit. There's a supermarket... More

Rocks, caves, crabs in tidal pools, crazy looking rock formations, ice cream truck parked outside, foot washing station.

Playa de Toro is our local beach. After a huge storm last Autumn which effectively took away all the sand, things are now returning to normal. There is a very good bar/restaurant (Riomar) and plenty of free parking

Lovely beach, not so keen on the seaweed . . .fantastic setting with the Pic d'Europe as a backdrop. Emerald sea, clean sand, plenty of space to sit and enjy the sunshine.

This is a great beach with fantastic rocks sticking out of the sand. Some are well enough worn to provide back support! Only downside is that it had the poorest public facility we came across after visiting many beaches along the northern coast. The beach has a lifeguard, a bar/restuarant right by the sand and a nearby car park. It... More

I've spent many happy days of my childhood on Toro beach but it's far from the best in the area. Plus points are that you can walk to it from Llanes; it's overlooked by the excellent Riomar restaurant and the swimming is safe if somewhat rocky in places. Definitely worth a visit, especially if you are staying in Llanes without... More

A great family beach with lifeguards and a cafe. White soft sand cove with a natural lagoon feel. The reference to the bull must come from the natural spikey rock formations
