Solabrena is a Small town, for people who drives through, the Castillo de Salobrena is not Big or much to see, but the Way up there, is like going through old town, small Streets. By the Beach, many restaurants with Nice fod not so expensive. Will definitly go back to this place.

Salobrena is a lovely spanish town which is dominated by the castle at the top. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. Great views from the top.

If you are after great views then you will like it, but as castles go, it is infinitely inferior to the Alcazar up the motorway in Almeria. I would suggest you keep going north to Almeria and treat yourself to a visit to a really fantastic castle, which has far more interesting features and great views. The signage to the castle is appalling! Don’t even try to drive up as there is no parking. You have to walk it but that is a challenge - not from the walk, but just to find the entrance! There was one sign as you enter the old town for pedestrians and we and at least 4 others couples/ groups encountered one another up and down various streets near to the top, simply trying to find the way up to the entrance! Finally at the bottom of some steep steps there is ONE sign. I think the Tourist Office need to improve this as I am sure many tourists simply give up! We very nearly did. Actually this castle is more impressive from the A7 motorway than it is up close.

Salobrena is a very Spanish town, small winding streets lead up to the castle. We eventually found a parking space on the street on the outskirts of Salobrena and walked up to the castle, being careful not to tread in the abundant amounts of dog poo that litter the street. Very interesting narrow streets lead up to the castle, and there are signs embedded in the roadway as a guide. Very quiet town on a Saturday afternoon in late February. The castle is OK for a quick visit but nothing special. From the castle you do get a good view over the whole of Salobrena town and surrounding area, but it's not a lovely outlook.

Beautiful small castle perched on top of a hilltop near the sea surrounded on all sides by densely packed white painted houses with narrow streets and lanes.
