Martin Van Burens grave was easy to find and the grounds were well maintained. Parking was easy and it was a worthwhile stopping point.

Wonderful old cemetery- easy entrance to get in and out. The cemetery is well kept. The Martin Van Buren Grave site was easy to find with great signage.

Hard to find but worth the effort to get there

This is the final resting place of Martin Van Buren. There is no address for it but if you turn down Albany Ave and kept going down you’ll see the cemetery. No where near the church. As you’re going down you’ll see the grave markers. I posted pictures of what you’ll see from the road. It’s on the right side of the cemetery.

Final Resting place for our Eighth President
Nov 2017 • Couples
We found the cemetery difficult to find, but nicely maintained with a rather unpretentious marker for the President. First, it's not next to the Kinderhook Reformed Church, nor his home of Lindenwald at Oak Post Road off 9H outside of town. It is located off Albany Road, not far from the church and center of town. There is no parking lot, but room to park on the side of the road. Van Buren's plot is located on the right side of the cemetery as you leave town. We stopped here before our visit at Lindenwald. We recommend stopping in town at Broad Street Bagel for either breakfast or lunch.

Wished we'd have had more time!

The weather was cold and rainy, or we'd likely have spent the entire day exploring this historic cemetery. Martin van Buren's grave is rather unobtrusive, and we wished we'd have been able to find the graves of his parents and infant son. van Buren's grave is well-marked, though, and easy to find. DEFINITELY go visit the grave if you go to visit Lindenwald!

Nice Quick Stop to See A President

President Martin Van Buren is buried here. There is no parking lot but you can just park on the side of the road. There are signs that point to his grave so finding it isn't difficult at all.

Wonderfully simple
Apr 2017 • Solo
This presidents last resting place and is in a beautiful small-town cemetery and maintain by the Kinderhook garden club there are no presidential adornments at all you would never know there was a United States president buried there . In the age of The Imperial presidency this reminds me of a time when our country was simpler and less focused on pure power and greed.🇺🇸

Quick Stop
Sep 2016 • Friends
If your goal is to visit presidential grave sites this is a must. Van Buren's presidency was marked by an economic depression and he has fallen out of favor with several historians but that shouldn't stop anybody from seeing his gravesite if they're in the area. Not far from his Lindenwald home, the cemetery is divided by the highway with no parking lot, however you may pull onto the side grass and walk. This isn't a massive cemetery like Albany Rural so the walking distance to Van Buren's grave is nothing challenging. Van Buren is on the side where the state historical marker is, you can follow the white arrows marked MVB GRAVE right to the site. The monument towers over the others and is usually adorned with flags. The stones indicating where each member of the family is buried is behind the monument, it was a little disappointing seeing that the lettering is becoming very difficult to read on the front of the monument. The cemetery itself is picturesque in its own right, but very quaint like the town itself. If you're going to do this cemetery, make it a stop on a larger tour of the Albany region, it's only about 20-30 minutes from there.

Aug 2016 • Family
Just a couple of miles from the Van Buren home outside Kinderhook. A small cemetery with graves marking several members of the Van Buren family.
