We enjoyed this walk with the dog several times during a recent holiday. It's well paved for most of it's length which makes it stable underfoot and leads to several bays. It's quite steep in places but it means you earn that beer and tapas! Just watch out for the hairy caterpillars which were out a bit earlier this year because of the mild winter (we were there in February). They are lethal for dogs so make sure you watch your fur friend.

This is a great little hidden gem in town. At the far end of Velilla Taramay, by Pozuelo beach, you can find one of the access points. There are basketball courts, a bmx track and hiking paths. You can enjoy walks surrounding by nature and gorgeous sea views along the way. The path will take you up and down a few hills, with a few beaches along the way too. It really makes for great afternoon and there area few spots and view points to have a picnic too. There are restaurants along the way as well.

A good walk around two or three bays with steep climbs now and then but lovely views, it can be done in short stages depending on your fitness and there are good sitting areas

This is a large park with wide paved paths it leads to some small beaches and there are a few small cafes where you can have a coffee overlooking the sea.

We loved the peacefulness in this parque and its spectacular views along the coast. There are seats. We walked over to a couple of beaches this way and the wild flowers and oleanders along the paths were beautiful. There are restaurants/cafes at the second beach.

Be prepared to climb a hill that makes the north face of the Eiger seem flat! However, having said that, the view from the top is terrific.

Well this is the one path you must walk through when visiting Almunecar. You can find 4 different beaches while walking there and there is one place very suitable for kids.

I shot a wedding here, so didn't explore much apart from the terrace where the wedding was held. When we visited the day before, the floor was covered with litter: mostly spent tealights and candles, but on the morning of the wedding I looked down from the room at the adjacent hotel and could see a big cleaning party!

Next time I must explore more.
