Great spot for snorkel swim and quiet beach overall. Limited food options but there is one restaurant and small kiosk if needed (or take your supplies). Follow the directions on maps for the marina and take a right at bottom of road, free parking also some back up the hill (on left side only).

Here we find a quit beach in Cala Punta, it's not a sandy beach, but cristal clear water for snorkeling; Nice vegetations around, it's a beach to visit also in low season and it's very nice in spring;

Snorkling here in the bay is great. It is just by the small beach and quiet, never crowded. Probably most used by the people in the luxury apartment areas above. Just a around the corner is a harbour with a few restaurants and stores for boatpeople.

This small cove is just along from the marina but direct access is through the headland development along from main La Herradura. Probably best to set you satnav for directions as the route is through a maze of roads and not signposted. Some nice villas and apartments above the beach which made it feel too overlooked for me and the beach itself is not the effort to reach in my opinion.

Cala Punta De La Mona is the shorter name for Playa Ensenada de los Berengueles.
This beach is made of gray pebbles and larger boulders with some coarse grey sand.
The setting is lovely;situated between rocky shores and a grove of mimosa tree.
During my visit in february the trees were in bloom and the beach saw very few visitors despite the warm sunny weather.
A good area to dive or snorkel because of the sheltered rocky cove and clear waters.
Unfortunatly there is no direct foot-path to Almunecar.I had to walk up to the lighthouse and then again down to the seashore at Cotobro.
