We were planning on going to the higher villages but due to car sickness from one of our party members left us in this little town before heading down. Tiny little town. Must, must by the local jamon and jamon iberico here!!! So good and cheap. We hit up 3 jamon shops before heading down. We also got some bread at the Galician bakery and produce and honey at the local stores. Everything we purchased there was fantastic. Regretted not buying more of everything..especially the jamon iberico which out of the 3 shops we went to only one at the far end sold sliced.

A lovely traditional spa town famous for its spring water. There are a couple of good walks from the town into the area below taking in some of the national parks and mountains. The town itself is one long street populated by cafes, restaurants and shops and makes a lovely drive out from some of the seaside resorts. The drive once you leave the motorway is scenic as well.

Lanjaron is famous for its spring water. You see the factory where it is bottled and sent around the country. The town has a series of spring taps where you can stop and drink the cool clean water. You can bring your bottles and fill them too. Certain spring taps claim certain miracles. The springs are throughout the village and feature brass spigots into a blue bowl and decorative tiles with information about that spring on them. The real miracle is you don't need to pay for this glorious cool drop! Look out for the museum of water, on the edge of town on the road to Orgiva.
