Not much here to see but across the street is the Georgia-Pacific Building which was the site of the Loew's Theater where Gone with the Wind premiered in 1939.

The site of Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Central Branch, a nice water feature, small monument to Margaret Mitchell . “Gone with the Wind” movie premiered at that intersection in 1939 in a building which I believe later burnt down. It is a nice historical nook of Atlanta to include in your city walks.

If you're in the area and you're a Gone with the Wind fan, it's a photo op. Otherwise not much else to see or do here. Place for a quick "I was here" pic.

The Margaret Mitchell Square is a small peninsula of property located just to the northeast of the Marriott Residence Inn. You my be disappointed when you visit if you are basing your expectations on some of the pictures posted to this TripAdvisor site which are NOT from the Margaret Mitchell Square but instead from the SunTrust building about a mile away. We stayed at the Residence Inn and passed the site multiple times a day. This small tribute plaza is very basic and had lots of litter when we passed multiple time a day. At night, there were usually a few homeless men gathered there. Not a very inviting place to visit.

I state in the building right next to this monument for a conference. It's a quick visit, but makes the neighborhood look nicer and adds in a bit of history.
