You are invited to touch everything so that is the first indication nothing is authentically hers. The neighborhood is pretty, better than downtown Atlanta, in my opinion. I don't recommend making a trip specifically for this unless you have some time to kill. It's mainly because other than the house, there isn't anything that's authentic or actually belonging to Margaret Mitchell here. The 3 room apartment #1 is decorated in the period of what Margaret Mitchell would've likely had in the place but nothing belongs to her. Our guide Jonathan was pretty dynamic which made the tour interesting. Be sure to visit the upstairs which showcases the premiere of Gone with the Wind and across the lower courtyard to The Making of a Film Legend (which we missed because we failed to look at the map that was handed to us). The only thing not renovated and which is original is a brick wall in the back and the entry way tiled floor.

I state in the building right next to this monument for a conference. It's a quick visit, but makes the neighborhood look nicer and adds in a bit of history.

If you're in the area and you're a Gone with the Wind fan, it's a photo op. Otherwise not much else to see or do here. Place for a quick "I was here" pic.

The site of Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Central Branch, a nice water feature, small monument to Margaret Mitchell . “Gone with the Wind” movie premiered at that intersection in 1939 in a building which I believe later burnt down. It is a nice historical nook of Atlanta to include in your city walks.
