About
Old Fourth Distillery is Atlanta's first legal distillery since 1906. Located in the heart of the historic Old 4th Ward, their state-of-the-art facility blends cutting edge technology with old world tradition to produce the finest spirits possible from regional, sustainable sources. Established in 2014. We launched our vodka in December of 2014 and won a Silver medal @ San Francisco Spirits Competition, in Jan. of 2015 we started to lay down barrels of our bottled in bond bourbon in East Atlanta for our 2019 release. the following year we released our Southern Dry Gin, which took home silver in San Francisco that year. In 2016 we released LawnDart, a ginger lemon liqueur. for 2018 we partnered with Atlanta United to produce a limited edition bottle of our Gin. 2019 saw the release of our long awaited Bottled in Bond Bourbon, aged 4 years, single barrel, 100 proof.

The Old Fourth Distillery was a real treat! The location was great and so was the facility. Our tour guide was not only knowledgeable but extremely personable as well! She was everything and anything that we needed. I would definitely recommend this tasting to anyone who is interested in liquor.

This is a cute distillery. I booked this tour weeks in advance. We got there 40 minutes early and they were not open yet so we sat in the car. The location is very undesirable. It is pretty sketchy. Our tour was scheduled at noon. The receipt said to arrive 10 minutes early…at 11:55 we tried to go in and were denied because they weren’t open yet. This immediately put me off. Then the lady said they had cancelled the noon tours but were honoring those that were already booked. Which made me think they didn’t want to do it. I told her I’d be happy to get a refund if they didn’t want to do it and she got real snippy with me. A different lady (Bones) did the tour and she was fun. The tour only lasted about 30 minutes. Bones is a bartender and made cocktails for purchase. We did leave with 2 bottles. My husband liked the bourbon and I liked the lemon vodka.

Our tour guide ,Anna, was both informative and engaging. Her knowledge of the history of both the building and the distillery was thorough. We toured as part of a birthday gift for my husband. It goes without saying that a good time was had by all!

Visited this place on a Thursday evening. My tour was scheduled at 6. The bartender indicated that she was waiting for two others to join this tour. Around 6:15, the bartender came over to the table and gave a brief description about the distillery, offered for me to go walk around if I wanted to, and then let me sample the four alcohols--vodka, gin, bourbon, and a lemonade-infused vodka. And that was it.

Having visited other places, I was expecting a little more than just a few samples and a brief description.

Granted, the bartender had several people at the bar to contend with, it was disappointing to say the least.

We (three over 21) dropped in to check out the place and find out if we could buy their vodka right there. What a great time! Very casual: owner sitting in the window booth on his laptop (great office!), tour guide telling us the history and mechanics (really engineering!) of the distillery, offering samples of the bourbon (almost ready!) and Lawn Dart. I wanted the cane-based vodka to find compare the flavor with corn-based vodkas. The tour and friends were pleasant surprises! Want something to do off the beaten path and local? This is it!

Hannah gave me an awesome tour of their facility. I learned things about distilling that I missed elsewhere. Beautiful use of historic materials (including school blackboards and marble urinal dividers) in the space, and their products are delicious. I was surprised to learn that they are distilling from sugar rather than grain, but they do a nice job with their vodka and especially the gin. The corn & rye-based whiskey (releasing in 2019) should be really nice based on this early tasting (27 months aging). And the Lawn Dart vodka with ginger and lemon is refreshing. Well worth the stop!

I loved everything about this tour - Ben was great - information was plentiful and very informative and samples were great. However I booked online the $30 tour per person which included the full bottle of liquor as opposed to the $10 tour price which included samples and glass. We were charged the $10 plus tax at the beginning and a further $30 plus tax at the end for the bottles of liquor - which was not as advertised or booked. Despite apologies that they no longer did this - then why did they still offer this online - particularly as the owners apparently owned a tech company, No excuse or remedy offered. It really soured the whole experience for me. Enjoy the tour, just be careful to check what you book is what they are charging.

We came here when visiting some friends in Atlanta. The tour is pretty quick and basic (if you’ve been on multi-liquor distillery tours before); the real highlight is the atmosphere and the tasting. We were given shot glasses (which we took home) and strong pours of vodka, gin, lawn dart, and partially aged whiskey (since their initial batches of whiskey are still completing the aging process). Their gin and vodka both stood out for their smooth, slightly sweet taste, and we left with a bottle of gin to take back to DC. The tour guide was great in describing the history of the distillery, it’s planned expansions, and the sourcing of ingredients for the alcohol, as well as discussing other fun things to do around Atlanta. We highly recommend this spot for anyone who likes liquor tastings, or is curious to learn about the process.

Listen don't sleep on this place. Yes its small but Trust the taste and quality is epic!!
Our guide knew all of the history from 1906 to current. The history in this place was crazy. Wait until you hear where the marble and wood came from. Don't forget to ask about the brick!!! Wow!!!
the Vodka is ohhhh soooo smooth. The Rum ...you can smell the juniper and all other spices and you can taste them in the Rum.
This place is spotless! You won't regret this tour at all!!!
