Before traveling to ATL for a weekend with our kids (3 & 6), we bought tickets without reading the reviews; and then regretted the purchase because so many reviews were off putting. We even thought about scrapping it and losing our money. But, our day plans left us with a gap and we decided to try it. So glad we did. It was great for young kids with no expectations and a blossoming appreciation of Legos. It is not Legoland like the parks in CA and FL, and if you’ve been to those, this will be a let down. But, it’s a fun 1-2 hours of Lego themed experiences with two rides, a building/race track area, a climbing area, a virtual reality experience and an awesome city display of Atlanta and the surrounding area. Our kids loved it. I’m glad we gave it a shot.

I agree with done of the letdown reviews here. This place was good size but overpriced for the condition. The Ninjago area was pretty beat up and things were either partially broken or not functioning. Difficult to build cars in the race track area with not many wheel pieces to choose from. The ride was ok but the laser tag gun wasn't functioning too well.

Our family visited the second Tuesday of January 2020 as a birthday surprise for his upcoming 6th birthday. Overall, we had a wonderful time as it is definitely geared toward ages 10 and below, but we believe some playful 11 and 12 year olds who are into legos would enjoy their visit! All items were functional except some sort of riding video game in the corner. The staff was extremely friendly except for one young lady who exceptionally rude named Cheyenne in the food court. We do not know what her problem was but the attitude was present from the beginning when we walked up. Cheyenne was definitely the only negative impression we received in the entire visit, but she would not keep us from returning in a year or two or visiting the one in Orlando during a family vacation! Our kids really enjoyed the visit!

I took my 8 y/o and we only stayed for 45 mins. The lego Atlanta display was amazing! The ninja go area had a couple activities and there was a play area. The ride was for younger kids and my son wasn’t interested. The play place looked pretty fun, but there were a lot of kids on it. Then the kids could build a lego car and send it down a ramp. That was cool for about 5 mins. Even the store at the end was lacking. Over all, not worth the $25 each for a ticket.

So there isn’t a ton to do—took my 4 year old nephew and he liked the little ride but the rest wasn’t too exciting. I will say the room where the city of Atlanta landmarks are built with Legos is pretty amazing!
Best part by far but the overall theme is more about moving you into the store at the end, where the service wasn’t that good. I doubt we will be back

Great place for Lego loving kiddos to explore, build and play. We loved finding little things in the lego-sized replica of the DFW area. They had a few rides and experiences for the kids that were extra, but we did the basic package and still had a great time.

Disappointing that many things weren’t working. At the beginning with so many places saying tap here to start and nothing happens, the laser guns on the ride not functioning, buttons in the LEGO display mostly not working, the water table bone dry with nothing to offer, and no 4D movie. The movie was extremely loud and the only effects were wind blowing and what looked like a few bubbles. All of that being said a toddler didn’t notice and had fun building towers, racing cars, and riding the Merlin ride.

Employees are not very friendly with children. Many stations were not working. You couldn’t build a car to race on track because there were no wheels available to build a car. Not enough employees available to monitor each site.

Our grandkids favorite attraction, Kingdom Quest, was broken for the second time. The interactive wall was not functional. One of the 4D movies was also a disappointment as it was in 2D and the only special effect was the wind machine and the heat in the theatre was not working so, we were freezing. Management needs to post when attractions are not operational.

We had 5 kids with us. Ages 6, 7, 7, 15 & 17. All of them loved it! I can understand why some were disappointed if you didn't fully understand what this place is. It's NOT Lego Land. I compare it to a children's Museum but everything has to do with legos. We were there for 3 hrs.!
There are 8 areas . . .
Area 1: Welcome room. Fun facts about Legos. On this day they were handing out a large yellow lego with their logo.
Area 2: Fun Lego Land style ride. It's a little short so we went twice!
Area 3: Mini Lego land: Star Wars & Atlanta attractions
Area 4: Snack area & small toddler area (like you'd find in a fast food place)
Area 5: Build a lego race car. My kids loved this area. They have 4 race tracks with plenty of room for many cars to race at once. There is also a private room where you can sign up for a building session with a Lego expert.
Area 6: Play Place! Like you'd find at a fast food place but much bigger. I liked how they had a Lego Discovery employee monitoring the gated entrance to this area.
Area 7: 4D movie. I do agree with the others that it really didn't feel like a LEGO movie but all of the kids still loved it.
Area 8: Sm. Lego Land like ride
Visiting Tips:
1. Lego Discovery is in the mall! They need more signs. It's on the 3rd floor across from the movie theater.
2. Buy tickets online for a discount! Plus they have a limit on how many people can enter at once. If you buy online you're guaranteed entry on that day and time. We got there on a Tue. at 10:30am.
3. Buy or bring a Lego figure to trade. We selected the Lego ticket that came with a figure. I was disappointed that they gave the kids Simpson themed Legos. My kids had no idea who they were. Luckily we were able to trade with some of the employees and they left happy. I thought they might give out a special Lego figure that you can only get at a Lego attraction.
4. Don't bring small kids (3 & under). There really isn't much for them other than the toddler play place & playing with Legos.
Would we go back . . . . YES!!!!

Why is there only a time slot from 3 to 4 when buying tickets online? I checked all days and there is no earlier time.
What is the average time a family spends here?

I would 3–5 hours. Could be less but for the price you need to get your monies worth.

We took the kids on a weekdayand went in the minute it opened. Only around :00 did a group of kids on a field trip come in. We had no lines and easy seating in the theater. Even when the class group came in, it was not crowded until after 1:00. Have fun!

Are small dogs that are in a carry purse allowed in. He is a emotional support dog.

I would think simply as an outsider that as long as the dog is classified as an emotional support dog and contained in a purse, you may be ok..but I would call the attraction and talk to a staff member there to make sure. I may be completely wrong. There are a lot of people there and as there may be people coming in who are allergic or afraid of dogs, it's quite possible you won't be able to do this.

Can you bring outside food in, i.e. Snacks for kids, bagged lunch, etc? This is not answered on the FAQs page.

The Discovery Center is on the 3rd Floor of a mall. They have a Snack Bar, which we have never used.
We usually pack sandwiches in lunch box and use food court tables. Food court includes Johnny Rockets, Moe's, Earl of Sandwich.

Is this for children of all ages my nephew is turning 10 and I was thinking about taking him? Also is it a water park if so how is is?
tedwards2269
College Park, GA67 contributions
It's more of a Discovery center not the actual park. I think your 10 year old nephew will enjoy it there. It has a 4d theater and a miny ride where you go and try to save the princess. They also have a lego and water table that you can make legos
