A short stroll from our hotel in Midtown brought us through the nature themed wrought iron gates of Piedmont Park. What a delightful afternoon was ahead for us!
Meandering through the paths we came upon large open fields with gentle slopes, serene green ponds, historic buildings available for private function rentals, snack bar options, and bench swings to sit and enjoy the views. All around us people were soaking up the sun, exercising, walking with dogs and children and it had a great feel of a safe happy place in the middle of the big city.

Very nice park, lots of people walking around. The walk around the lake was very pretty and easy so anyone can do it. It was fun to walk to the park highlights and they were very pretty to see the Atlanta skyline is the background

We walked here from near downtown which took a fair while but it wasn't too strenuous. Unfortunately it was winter so the markets weren't operating and the ground wasn't really suitable for lots of sports or activities alike so it felt a bit empty. However, overall the park was certainly one of the nicer city parks we have visited, and it was very picturesque; we sat by the pond for a while and also walked around the large open field near the center (the Active Oval). It was welcome to have such a large green space so close to the city.

Our final day in Atlanta found us visiting Piedmont Park in an area between Downtown Atlanta and Midtown. Piedmont has a fascinating history, which can be seen/read on the historic markers at one end of the park. Lake Clara Meer has many great spots for pictures but be sure to get the icon shot of the lake with the skyline of Midtown Atlanta looming in the background. There's an extensive aquatics park and plenty of room to walk, jog, or bike the park's pathways. Finally, make sure to visit - and play at - the Noguchi Playscape.

A total Gem! The grounds are very expansive with something for everyone including walking/biking trails, lake views, and athletic fields. A perfect place for a picnic or to layout with a book. We learned that they offer weekend markets, classes, volunteer opportunities, and tours. It seems like such a labor of love for those who work and recreate there. Very special!

We booked onto a free tour one Saturday morning. It was great because there was a food market going on! They do have parking in the park but the day we went they had a race on and so weren’t able to park there but there are a few other car parks near by.

The tour was super.
It is not a strenuous walk and the guide was really careful not to stand in the sun and instead find the shade! We learnt about the ownership of the park and what it used to be and how the park has changed over the years.
I wouldn’t have learnt all of the this was it not for the tour.

It was January, and cold... however, I have been here in the spring and it is lush, beautiful and full of life. It was fairly busy for a chilly weekday in January. The park is nestled in the city/busy burbs of Atlanta. There were people walking, talking and taking their pooches for a stroll. It has a fun vibe, even with everyone bundled. If you are a park person, check it out.

I was REALLY happy to get out and walk in Piedmont Park. Except, it was SO CROWDED that we had to really work at staying 6 feet away from anybody! We couldn't enjoy ourselves with the volume of walkers and runners, so we stayed to the edges of the Park and made it a relatively short visit. We had so many people to avoid, most without any kind of face covering, that I could not take many photos. People are so disappointing.

Piedmont Park is one of Atlanta's icon parks. you can always find a wonderful festival on the weekend or live music from time to time.

During the summer they have Screen on the Green, where you can watch movies. Also yearly they have the Piedmont Dogwood Arts Festival.

If you have a favorite puppy, make sure you bring him or her out to the dog park. It's one of the most wonderful dog parks in the city. They have a separate small park for small dogs and a much larger one for your pup to run and play!

The best park in Atlanta.

It's a big place with people biking, running, walking, laying out ... just a great place to spend some time.

It's has a great atmosphere, great vibe, it's vibrant.

Great views and easy access to the Beltline where you can walk to bars / restaurants.

It is a place one must visit when in Atlanta.
