Visiting these caves can have very unexpected consequences! After our one-hour tour, we returned to our rental car to discover that someone(s) had broken the side window and stolen everything (two suitcases and two carry-ons). What a shock! The carpark is unmonitored and is out...More

First, if you have any appreciation for history, go. Just go. I'll comment on a side issue- the thing that dropped this from a 5* review. Unless you either arrive at the lowest season - as we found out that we did - or you...More

It is fantastic, other worldly, and a privilege to see these natural caves and pre-historic paintings, unembellished for tourists. We had an excellent tour guide who gave us excellent explanations and looked out for our safety. She also paced it so we could catch our...More

This place was recommended by a friend after they were blown away on their visit. I can safely say the same was true for me. Having visited a few other renowned caves over the years this was by far the most impressive. What is particularly...More

These caves offer a fascinating glimpse into a past world. Aside from the amazing rock formations that have evolved over millions of years, the 32,000 year old cave paintings are a wonder to behold. Our guide enhanced the experience with his knowledge and wit. This...More

Having recently read”Sapiens”, the international best seller, it was a privilege to see first hand evidence of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. A very well led tour by a guide who knew what she was talking about and the accompanying geology was breathtaking.

This is a highly recommended visit to make. It takes a bit of forward planning but is well worth the effort. You will also need your own transport to get to this location. It is a few Kms outside the little town of Benaojan. You...More

As much as seeing the Neolithic and Palaeolithic paintings were the highlight, this tour included so much more. The caves were just stunning. The guide explained everything in Spanish and English which was unexpected but much appreciated. Will be a highlight of our trip. Had...More

If you type in Pileta cave tours on Google you will find the Pileta cave site heading the page and this gives opening times (open all year round and weekends) and advice on how to get there (by train then walk)
