It's just a normal castle in a nice setting but also with plenty of touristy kiosks around. The "museum" is terribly overpriced and deserves even lower rating for the non-existent value for money!
Avoid it!
We visited while school classes were visiting and it became a defeaning experience, got clear flashbacks from Disneyland in Paris (although the castle there is cuter and pink).
If you really need to see it, choose to spend some time in the charming nearby medieval village at Rasnov.

I have been twice in Bran and each time I visited it. At first it was a nice surprise, as I did not expected to find this beautiful quiet place right near the Castle, which was overcrowded and noisy. It is authentic, it gives a good perspective on the way people lived in the past and it is a visit that can diversify your stay in Bran.

I've got to this place due to the line of traders , that were selling gadgets, till the entrance of the Museum. Was closed(only this one was closed). There are around a dozen of old county wooden houses and old mills. No explanation for the close.

We visited here whilst we were staying in Bran. The museum was ok but just not very big. There wasn't really much to see... What really irradiated myself and husband was we were followed closely throughout by one of the staff. Now this would be ok if she was chatting and showing us around, but no, she stalked us like we were shoplifters!!! We felt so uncomfortable that we left!!!

We saw this museum, the entrance hidden away from the main drag at the end of a short side road, only minutes from the castle entrance. It was cheap to go in so we thought we would try it, it was so good!!!

Cute little traditional houses and you can even have a go at archery (for RON 10) for 8 arrows. Loads of fun and would definitely recommend. Without archery, can complete in 15-20 minutes

It's not that big hit the one in temesvar is bigger and better. But for the local view it's ok. It fits in the day program after the castle and the queen museum.

4 lei entry to see a range of traditional houses from the area, inside and out. The info on each is brief but informative.
I enjoyed this far more than Bran Castle!

Small and easy to miss. Some interest but small and not a great deal to see. If you are in Bran you may as well pop in
