The beach. It smelled just like what you would imagine a beach would smell like. The water not to hot quite cold but still deal able with. It may be cold (22-27c) in summer but its still nice. As I'm Portuguese and from there it feels like it really is a true beach.

One of the best beaches in Portugal - good surfing, easy parking, good local cafes and surf schools.

Try some delicious seafood at the local restaurants and enjoy as the waves crash in towards the beach. The area offers the possibility to surf, and enjoy varied beach and cliff sceneries.

This beach stretches all the way to Peniche and is sandy all that way. In places the water is shallow for quite a way out but in others it is quite short and steep hence the reason, coupled with the wind, that there are very good waves for surfing. However, if you do not surf and just like a leisurly splash in the water beware. The under tow is quite strong and it is wise to follow the signs on the beach showing safe swim areas.
Beach canvass shelters are available as there seems to be a constant wind even when the sea is quite calm.
There are two beach cafe's which are accessed,as is the beach, by wooden slat walkways.
Little to do here if you are not a surfer of some kind but its great if you are a sun bather as there is literally miles of beach and even in August it was not overly crowded.
In the town of Consolacao there are the nor,mal mini markets but also a very nice cafe for tea,s drinks and fresh cakes/bread and also another cafe that does very nice food of all types.
There is sometines a travelling fair ground/circus and live music in the town square.
We were in a hotel a bit off the beaten track between Peniche and consolacao and so it was an easy place to walk to if we did not want to drive to peniche
Enjoyable for a sunny day on the beach with breaks for refreshments

Beautiful. The ability to just watch and hear the sea in solitude. Too cold to swim and the sand it a tough walk but the view and feeling more than make up for it. A truly magical place

For me: too many people. Typical summerbeach-village, A lot of people in summer for vacation, rest of the year not enough to have that summer-feeling.

I can understand why this beach is a surfers paradise- the waves and the wind provide the perfect combination! However I am not a surfer so while I think the beach is great the constant strong wind is a bit too much for a non-surfer. Fabulous location, great views, lovely place
