For lovers of history, and I am one of them. Manassas was a very important site during the Civil War, so some artifacts there of course, along with history of the old town itself. Also a souvenir shop.

This museum is not very big, but it is nice. We spent about 30-45 minutes there. The movie is really good, best we've seen. Staff are really nice.

This small museum is just the right size to give the visitor a good sense of the history of Manassas - how the area was developed, the impact of the Civil War, and how it recovered and moved forward.

It's a large one room museum, showing the history of Manassas, with emphasis on the Civil War. Good for a one hour visit. The gift shop has a variety of interesting Virginia mementos, and the two women staffing it were very helpful in telling us about historic Manassas, where to go eat and shop in the little town. It's free... More

The museum is aimed at coverage of lifestyle and existence the region. The exhibition includes household items, costumes, utensils. There are guns and ammunition. Especially liked the moonshine and their long history of distilling)))

My husband and I visited last weekend to see the museum and visit the battlefield site. The museum was well laid out and informative, and we enjoyed the auto trail and walking trails.

I was pleased that a costumed docent was available to get us started with our visit. He was very good at describing the area's role in 1800's history. The museum is small and very well done, full of nicely preserved and displayed artifacts. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and helpful in finding other things to do around town. It's... More

Mostly civil war and growth/change in the area, there's a rich railroad history here. This is also near the annual fireworks display and community July 4th hub, and a great place to perch for all those activities.
