About
The Classic Car Collection was the brainchild of obsessive petrol-head Mr. Carol Galea, an avid and self-confessed car enthusiast. He first began customizing and building his own cars for local hill climbing races but his hobby evolved into a full-blown passion for classic cars. This is his personal tribute to the automobile industry – or as he puts it – it’s a ‘living and growing collection that spans more than 50 years of motor manufacturing’ The museum has approximately 100 Vehicles on display ranging from a Jaguars C-Type & E-Type, Alfa Romeos, Fiats, MGs, Mercedes, Chevrolette, Ferrari, Bentley etc. They have all been carefully restored and lovingly preserved. In 2018 the latest very interesting addition was the 'Live Workshop' where one can see real classic cars being restored. There are also a 2 Cinemas and a Motoring Library on site that one can explore.

On a hot day we decided to have a look around the classic motor museum. It was easy enough to find, although I was surprised as it looked to be no more than a shop from albeit with a beautiful blue vintage car out front.
We received a friendly greeting on arrival and were left to our own devices to look around the museum which was nice. All covid protocols were observed but did not detract from the experience.
The museum is effectively the basement of the building and quite obviously a labour of love, sad to hear the founder had passed away in June 2021 but lovely to hear all his family are still involved and that his passion for vintage cars will carry on.
Beautifully cared for and restored cars and a few motorbikes fill the areas of the basement. Enough information about each vehicle and the rest of the museum was filled with things from times gone. If you fancy seeing some beautiful vintage cars (look but don’t touch style of museum) or you are a car enthusiast you will happy fill an hour of time whilst in Malta.

A very enjoyable couple of hours spent at the classic car museum. Myself and my wife had a tour and it was brilliant my wife is not into cars but enjoyed the experience as it's not just cars there are loads of other exhibits of the era like household gadgets etc from former decades. We also had a good chat with one of the restorers and the guy on the door who were very informative. €10 well spent

When we approached the museum, it looked incredibly small and uninteresting, apart from the Bugatti parked outside. However, when we got in, we were staggerd at the size and the number of vehicles. They had many of my favourites, including Ferrari's, Corvette Stinrays and even a Rolls. We could have stayed there all day. The collection of E-Types made my mouth water. You cannot miss this place and you don't have to be a motorhead to appreciate it.

A great little car collection with a varied range of old cars from British to Italian and even American. Entrance fee is very good at 10€ each. The restoration level on their barn find is amazing and you can even see into the workshop to see what is in progress. An hour would be enough to get a good look round. There is a cinema room but that wasn’t showing when we visited.

Located conveniently near the Terminus of the 212 bus, in Qawra, the museum is located beneath a block of flats in Tourist Street. Entry is 10 euros pp but well worth it. There is a fine collection of automobiles including Jaguars and Alfa Romeos etc several interesting short films and a cinema which was showing the history of the Mille Miglia . You can also view the Restoration Area where three guys were working on an Alfa Romeo Spider.

Entrance fee reasonable. Liked this museum as lots of interesting things to see and the cars were really well displayed in themes. Lots of classics to see from Fords, Fiats, Jags, Minis and evening American. Loved the Morris mini commercial pick up. There is a restoration garage at the back which is good to watch .. the levels of quality is amazing.

When on holiday in Malta we always try to visit as the exhibits change from year to year. However on our last visit we were delighted to attend a special tour with wine and cheese. The tour was hosted by the owner who pointed out his favourites and told us fascinating stories about some of them, especially those with which he has a personal connection.

My advice is, when you visit, don't just look at the cars, look at the posters on the walls. These will give you the background to the exhibits.

You can easily spend half a day here if you are a classic car enthusiast. The highlight may be if the owner is around and you get to talk with him

My car-loving partner persuaded me to visit this museum on a sunny day. I was keen to enjoy the weather a bit more before returning to an inevitable grey UK but relented. It meant that we perhaps didn't stay for as long as we might, and I suggest that you pick a time to visit when your mind isn't elsewhere (the sun lounger for instance). Having said that, this is an impressive collection of vehicles and depending on your level of interest you could spend anything from 30mins to over two hours here. There are a few idiosyncrasies, such as the huge effigy of Hulk Hogan next to the American car collection, or the array of ladies wear on display, and you could hardly describe a television and row of seats as a cinema, but the owner's passion for motoring definitely shines through.

Dear Daniel, Thank you for your visit and for following up with a review. We understand that whoever prefers to enjoy the Sun outside would not be so interested in our Museum, but we are glad that you appreciated our impressive collection. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, our cinema is temporarily closed for the public. We apologies for this inconvenience. We hope to see you for a longer visit maybe next time on a Rainy Day :) Regards, The Team

A great collection of cars, all in amazing condition. The E-types and the Alfa Romeo collection a particular highlight. Well worth talking to the guys there too, very friendly and knowledgeable and really know the cars well. I was impressed to see most of them are taxed and learned that all run and get driven!

We came across this by accident. Look really tiny from the outside. I was looking at the car parked outside when receptionist invited us in to take a look before paying to go in. I was taken aback at the size of the ground floor. There are some beautiful and rare cars in this collection. It also has a workshop where around 3 cars are being restored. I also met the owner who told me a few bits and pieces around some of the cars.
