First, I’m not an English native speaker, I came to Malta to learn English. The instructor, David, came from Britain. During the AIDA 2 lesson, the instructor, David, was patient and told to me not to be afraid for asking any questions. First two days I had some problems with my equalization, I couldn’t dive to 5 metres. I knew next day I couldn’t pass my final exam, fortunately, David told me we should pause and after I know how to control my equalization then come back to finish the course. David sent me several of instructions and video links about equalization. Finally, I had passed my exam and got the AIDA 2 certificate and David gave me a cap and a water bottle as presents. Very glad for having an experience at Onebreath freediving shop. Highly recommend for the person who want to learn freediving and the student who come from foreign country for learning English.

Few weeks later I joined my first additional training dive after I got my certificate, instructor David, another student and I went to Cirkewwa to do some adventure dives, nice weather and peace waves. We spent 2 hours in the water from easy 10 metres to challenging 19 metres. We swam through some caves and explored statue, 2 old bombs, some spots and Rome stone which has X and Y on it. It was a wonderful adventure with David. I bought a mask and a snorkel as well, it’s fit my face than the one which I wore during my course. By the way, if you’re his student you can have a discount for additional training sessions and equipment.

Last week my girlfriend and me did some free diving courses with David (AIDA1 and AIDA3).

Malta is one of Europe’s best countries for diving as there are many dive spots reachable from the shore, interesting ship wrecks to explore and clear blue water.

David is a very professional instructor and explained the course material comprehensibly and with a lot of passion. What I liked a lot was his eye for the detail and the good discussions we had when I had some questions.

I had some previous experience with free diving, diving to around 13m of depth and now after the AIDA 3 course I am able to go down to 30m. Additionally, I noticed how my diving technique has improved, my dives are now much more confident and much smoother than before.

Also, diving with David's co-instructor Jose was great fun. During a dive with them I claim to have seen a dolphin underwater, although no one believes me :P

I would definitely recommend to everyone (beginner or advanced) a dive session or a course with One Breath.

I did my AIDA 2 and my AIDA 3 with one breath and I don't regret a second. The instructor is really nice and it's just overall a great vibe. I started off diving at a maximum depth of maybe 5 meters and I can now dive up to 30 meters. Best dive school on the island.

A brilliant morning freediving off the amazing Malta coastline.

I met David at the dive shop to get my kit before we headed off to the north west coast to get in the water. It was brilliant to be able to step off the rocks and immediately see the 20m drop-offs and swim out to the wreck. David is a knowledgeable and patient instructor and a great guide. I highly recommend this trip for anyone who wants to freedive Malta.

If you are visiting Malta and enjoy spending time in the water, there possibly isn’t anything more appropriate than learning how to stay there for longer and observe the marine life.
I had my eye on One Breath Freediving before we left for Malta and had no expectations.
I can now say how pleased I am with the experience (AIDA 2) and what nice person and good teacher David (the instructor) is. He makes you feel safe and relaxed so you can embark on the amazingly exciting yet meditative journey of freediving.
My only advice is that you would feel more confident and get more out of it if you are able to swim.

Found One Breath Freediving on the internet and emailed regarding possibly doing an AIDA level 4 course, David (the owner and instructor) responded fast and efficiently. I completed my AIDA 4 and FMER Course in Malta with David which I highly recommend, and a few months later have completed my instructor course with David in Dahab, Egypt.

Highly recommend One Breath Freediving for courses and / or training. David is friendly, patient and professional. Very grateful for all he has taught me.

We did the AIDA 1 Freediving course with One Breath, which was a great learning experience. Everything was clearly explained especially all the safety aspects of freediving.. David is a very professional instructor who made us feel very comfortable in the water learning the techniques . I would highly recommend One Breath if you want to do free diving.

We’ve always wanted to try a freediving course and see what it’s like so we went for the AIDA1 course with David😊. And it was a one of a kind experience. Fast in answering our messages on Whatsapp and gave all the info needed beforehand. We kind of booked at last minute; so thank you David for making my birthday the best one ever 😎!
He is a great teacher, knows how to explain and adapt and calmly helps you get past any fears that might take over, being present every step of the way.
If you ever flirted with the idea of learning to be a real mermaid/merman, find a freediving school and go for it! You will be amazed at what your body is capable of with the right mindset 😲
And, If you are ever in Malta during summer or Dahab during winter, look David up. The experience will be way worth your while!

Thank you again David, keep safe and see you next time!

Luke has an amazing knowledge of freediving and spearfishing. He took us spearfishing and taught us all the different types of fish and ways to hunt the specific types of fish. Later we put the theory into practice and had a great time in the water.

The best Instructor! David adapts his experience to your needs and pace. The best education system for freediving : AIDA. Both, David and AIDA, quite rigorous and deeply committed to the "freediving philosophy".

Definitely I recommend it!
If you are a freediver or scuba diver, you should try One breath. If not, this is a perfect opportunity for a deeper connection to our biological origins in the sea 🌊 🐠💧!
