My mum and I booked the Three Islands tour. The trip was fantastic, we stopped really close to the caves thanks to a very skilled captain, then onto the Blue Lagoon where we had time to swim in the beautiful turquoise waters before going to Gozo. We really liked being on a small boat, fewer people and lovely atmosphere with some music. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mermaid Cruises to anyone. Thank you, Matthew and crew!

We did this same cruise last year and on our last day in Malta this year decided to do something memorable. We only booked the cruise two days earlier from a vendor on the front. No hard sell, just explained the options and you only have to pay a small deposit. We opted again for the tour on Gozo which was 25 euros each. Boat is only small, room for approximalely 48 plus crew but we both prefer this type of cruise. Mixed age range and enough room for all although not the most comfortable but no complaints. Food and drink could be purchased on the boat at very reasonable prices and this was available throughout the cruise. Crew were pleasant, polite and helpful and assisted everyone who needed support, for instance getting on or off the boat. The commentary was not easy to hear but we had done the cruise before so no issues for us. Stopped at the Blue Lagoon for about an hour, Very crowded but pleasant, loads of places to buy food and drinks. hire out loungers and umbrellas if required. You had time to swim in the lagoon even if you were going on to Gozo which we did. The taxi was excellent, full A/C and visits to 3 sites. One slight criticism or maybe it was a memory from last year, the 3 stops were very short as compared to what we remembered from last year. However, this did not spoil the experience. Visited all the caves final swim around St Pauls Island and then return back to the harbour. All for 25 euros same price as last year.
One note to mention if travelling with small children don't take a pram. The captain would not allow a pram on board and the mother and baby missed the trip. I fully agree with the captain there was no storage for the pram it would have blocked passages just in case of an emergency. Would we do it again, absolutely.

For an extra €2 we should have gone on a better boat with all inclusive bar and food
Staff were friendly but that's not free beer

We wanted a cruise around the islands of Malta, but didn't fancy being crammed onto a converted ferry so we chose Mermaid Cruises as the boat only holds 48 people with plenty of space for everyone. The boat is also small enough to get into the caves and bays the larger boats can't. Matthew the captain was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was good and reasonably priced. A thoroughly enjoyable cruise. Bryan & Linda.

Don’t book this company. My wonderful girlfriend booked with them in December 2023 for my 30th in April 2024 . When it came to the day in April of the tour there was no boat, text or email to tell us that THEY had cancelled when we arrived at the pick up point.

The email that came to confirm it was cancelled came an hour after the scheduled time of the start of our tour. We were devastated, no communication at all from them. The weather was perfect that morning - no bad weather conditions. As several boat tours were taken places that day. Luckily me and my partner were able to get on a IseeMalta boat. I recommend anyone who is heading to Malta to use them or HornBlower tours. Never mermaid. My girlfriend wrote a review which then proceeded them to reply that we were lying. Why I’m earth would we lie about that??? They also used the excuse that it was unsafe to travel that day even though we will able to go on a tour with another provider that very day who is the liar here???

I have attached a photo below of us on another tour with several boats operators. There’s one thing being a terrible company but to be rude on top is ridiculous and shows what a horrible company you are. Don’t reply to this review. Your words are empty and we are so happy we never went on your boat . Don’t book Mermaids tour.

A typically touristy boat trip around the islands, caves and lagoons of Malta, despite the captain and first-mate being friendly, there were some important elements of this trip missing which otherwise would have made for a far better experience.

The commentary on the boat was very quiet and only consisted of instructions for pick up and drop off times and transport. We spent a lot of time on the boat with no commentary about the places of interest we were passing, such as the the cliffs-side buildings and statues, caves, island or lagoons - it would have been so nice to have learnt about what we were seeing.

We stopped off in the blue lagoon, which is hugely over-crowded, I cannot stress this enough, there is literally nowhere to sit and not enough time to get to the other side of the island, where it is quieter. The water was clear however with boats absolutely everywhere in my opinion it is not safe to swim or snorkel too far away from the small and crowded shore (i didn’t get a picture of the lagoon to show the extent of this unfortunately)

We headed to Gozo, where we missed the connecting transfer as we didn’t hear the details of what to do, so we Taxi’d in to the capital, sat and had lunch, whilst a couple of us ran up the hill to the Citadel for some photos, all very rushed due to the additional time it took us to arrange taxis for a family of 8 people (2x children and 6x adults - one with accessibility needs)

We also stopped at St. Pauls island, with no commentary we knew nothing more about why this was a place of interested other than the statue itself, nevertheless some of us took a pleasant walk up to the statue, which was beautiful as the sun was beginning to set.
I would not recommend swimming or snorkelling here, the water is very dirty with plastic bottles and bags and JELLYFISH, some the size of dinner plates, one person on our trip was stung and regrettably place to swim was recommended to us to swim by the captain.

Overall the places we visited were beautiful,, the boat was clean and the captain and first mate friendly, however it felt like a ‘stack ‘em high, sell ‘em cheap’ kind of trip with little attention to details, no commentary, no warning about jellyfish, no checking all information had been heard. Regrettably, we would not do this boat tour again and wouldn’t recommend it either for our type of group.

We did this cruise while in Buggiba and it was well worth the 20 euros - we left the harbour at 10.30 and were taken to the caves which were amazing. We then went to Blue Lagoon and we had about 1 1/2 hours there where we could go for a swim or a speed boat ride into the caves and then we went to Gozo where we stayed for 2 hours.

On the way back we stopped at St Pauls Island where you could walk up to the statue which I did and i was amazed at how tall it was and you could have a swim as well.

We got back to the harbour at about 18.00 after having a really enjoyable day.

I had an excellent experience sailing with Mermaid Cruises. The crew is really nice and thoughtful. The captain is very competent and detail oriented. Also concern with the environment which is a real concern to me too.
With this boat we can get get in all the caves and watch them closely. Blue lagoon is wonderful with clear and clean water.
We also stopped in St Paul's Island for a swim which was really nice.
I really recommend it!
