About
The Tenute SalvaTerra winery, is an estate situated in San Pietro in Cariano, at the heart Valpolicella valley, in Villa Giona estate, which is home to one of Valpolicella’s most stunning 16thcentury mansions, surrounded by cypress trees, olive groves, dry-stone walls and vineyards, and it stands at the foot of Castelrotto, of the region’s most picturesque towns.

Beautiful experience, beautiful location, exemplary guide. We were accompanied on our tour and tasting by the expert hands of the winery staff. The tasting of excellent wines from these lands with a perfectly calculated passage from the lightest to the fullest transported us in a poetic way. Rich wine shop with excellent products at more than fair prices.

I participated in a corporate event at Salvaterra in April. The location, immersed in the Valpolicella vineyards, is splendid and, developing in large spaces on 3 levels, it allowed us to complete a work meeting with an experience much appreciated by the participants. The visit to the barrel cellar where the Amarone refinement takes place and the tasting of the excellent Salvaterra wines made for a less formal business meeting with excellent results.

We visited with a group organised by Titan Travel. We were very well looked after by Silvia who took us on a tour of the winery before providing us with a lovely selection of grisini, three ages of Monte Veronese cheese (excellent - very tasty) and, of course, the wines. My wife considers the Salva Terra Prosecco the best she's ever tasted. The three Valpolicella wines produced here (Classico, Ripasso and Amareno) are all excellent examples of their type, too good, in fact, to resist. Not available currently in the UK Silvia arranged for cases to be sent home to us, shipping costs paid separately to the shipper. The whole experience was excellent - relaxed but efficient. Highly recommended.

We hired a private car out of Verona to take the four of us wine tasting for the afternoon. We visited SalvaTerra and Silvia was our host. We booked this directly with the winery and it was $25 Euro a person. Silvia did an exceptional job and made the experience so enjoyable. We toured the property and vineyard and she took us into the wine cellars that are on premise. Then we began our wine tasting with a platter of meats, cheeses and bread. She educated us on the Valpolicella wines in that region. We tasted 6 different wines including Amarone. The pours are generous and the wines are excellent. Then, she had us taste two different olive oils. Also, very delicious. You can buy bottles to take with you and they are very reasonably priced.
There is also a beautiful hotel/villa next store call Villa Giona. We arrived early and had a cappuccino there. The grounds of that property are really beautiful.

We went to Salvaterra as part of of a Pagus one day wine tour in Valpolicella. Salvaterra is a gorgeous winery and its grounds are enchanting. Silvia was an amazing host and we tasted thanks to her some incredible wines and oils. We ordered a few, so we'll enjoy a piece of Salvaterra even when we get back home to New York. If you want to have some amazing wines from Valpolicella you cannot miss Salvaterra!

Tasted several of the Salvaterra wines and toured the cellars. Very nice presentation and tasting experience. Beautiful countryside setting. The wine is very reasonably priced too, in case you want to take some home. (Or, they will ship it for you.)
Nicely done.

We enjoyed this visit while on a wine tour with Pagus. The grounds are stunning, part used for weddings. The Cellar and tasting rooms are new. The presentation was well done and the wines were great. We brought home a bottle of the Amarone.

Visited from a tour group, received red carpet treatment until other patrons started to come in. Only one guide, who was very engaging and knowledgable. Winery in converting to organic winery. Beautiful grounds and adjacent hotel. Not sure the average tourist could find this place.
