- fraiolim07Desenzano Del Garda, Italy17 contributionsAMAZING HOST (Andrea) and wonderful winery explanation and tasting! As of December of 2019, we have visited this winery 6 times in the past 2 years! Andrea is always our guide and is extremely knowledgeable about the winery, the wine, and even lunch recommendations! He speaks fluent english and has no problem answering any questions. Every time we visit, we meet another member of their family, showing this is truly a family owned and run winery! As if the host wasn't nice enough, their wine is the icing on the cake! "El Cencio" is our favorite wine of theirs, but their newly introduced Valpolicella Classico Superiore is an interesting addition! We always e-mail to make a reservation, but they have an easy to use contacts page where they get back to you almost immediately. Say hi to pepper the dog for me when you go!Visited December 2019Written January 14, 2020
- ARob75Vicenza, Italy21 contributionsGreat atmosphere where I felt comfortable asking questions and tasting wine.Going to Cantina Spada is like going to visit an old friend! We are always greeted warmly... even by Pepper (the dog) who always comes out to say hi. The wine is delicious. My favorite Garganega is from Spada... and the Cencio and Amarone are wonderfully balanced. Andrea did a wonderful job leading us through the wines and highlighting the specifics of the Valpolicella region.Visited March 2020Traveled with friendsWritten May 22, 2020
- Cora H2 contributionsSome of the best wine we have ever hadReally enjoyed our experience at Spada. I had visited once before in a group and loved it so I had to take my husband back so he could see it for himself (especially since we had already drank all the wine I purchased from the first visit). It was super easy to set up a tour and tasting via email. The winery is beautiful and the wines are some of the best we have ever had. Andrea was a wonderful host showing us the facility and explaining each of the wines we tasted. When you visit, it feels like you are visiting a good friends home. They are so welcoming! While we enjoyed every single one of their wines, our favorites are their Amarone and El Cencio. We cannot wait to visit again soon!Visited February 2021Written February 17, 2021

We moved to the Veneto Region 2 years ago and this is one of the first wineries we visited. Let me tell you, this was a fabulous introduction to the regional wines. This is a must-stop destination if you love wine, and especially Amarone!
During a recent hiking trip in the area, we made it a point to schedule time to buy more wine from Spada. Andrea, once again, gave us a great tasting experience and we departed with a few cases of delicious vino! Every time we stop at Spada, it's like we're returning home.
Our favorites: Amarone, Valpolicella Ripasso, and El Cencio

We visited last week and were treated to a wonderful tour by Andrea. He explained the entire production process, from grape selection and picking, up until the wine is ready for consumption. He showed us where each step of the process took place and how it was done. We then tasted 5 of their wines, culminating with their signature Amarone, and all were outstanding! Andrea was attentive, informative and very entertaining. The wines are superb. We had a great visit and can’t wait to come back. In the meantime, we bought a few bottles to take home with us. Highly recommended!

Exquisite! I would like to say Spada is the top among the 10+ wineries we visited in Valpolicella, its Amarone is quite well balanced and full body. We are honored to be its first group of HK visitors and look forward to seeing Spada in HK.

We did not have a reservation but Andrea immediately greeted us and welcomed us like we were family. He took time out of his busy day to explain processes, had us taste his prestigious wines and was a great host.
We purchased a few bottles and it may not be the end of it. I hope to come by again! Fabulous

We phoned on the spur of the moment, and 30 mins later we were sitting in the tasting room, how happy were we? What an informal and informative experience, we really enjoyed chatting with Andrea as we tasted some superb wines! Highly recommend the tasting and the wine

Traveled for the second time from Germany to come visit my favorite vineyard. Spada is the best! I love their wine. Andrea is awesome. He taught me so much about the process for wine production step by step, wine tasting, and so much more. I always learn something new every time I visit. They are very nice and personable. Can’t wait to come back to visit again!

We have visited this beautiful winery and enjoyed every minute. Andrea is so nice, explained everything with patience.
After the tour we got to the tasting room where we had a chance to try the winery's best wines. The hosting was lovely and delicious. There were even snacks for the kids.

This is a must-stop destination if you love wine, and especially Amarone! Andrea once again gave us a great tasting experience, and we departed with a car full of cases of delicious vino! This visit we met Cencio, the patriarch of the family, who just came in after working in the vines that morning. Spada, we will be back!
