Truffle hunting in the beautiful Umbrian hills, an unforgettable culinary experience, a day spent in the company of colorful locals, a stroll through some stunning countryside... The Wild Foods Gastronomical Adventure is a piece of Italy you will never forget. You spend a day immersed in authentic traditional Italian company, culture and cuisine. You hunt truffles, cook truffles, eat truffles, as well as get to experience an amazing part of Italy far away from the usual tourist trails. You also experience some traditional 'wild' cuisine, maybe wild boar stew, sauteed hare, or roast guinea fowl. It's great for foodies and wine-lovers, or for anyone just wanting to immerse themselves in the landscape, people and culture of Umbria.

The Black Truffle Lodge is a magical agri-touristic gem high in the crests of the magnificent Umbrian mountain range. We stayed 3 nights with two amazing days of truffle hunting. Like the Black & White truffles, the hunters, dogs & environs had their own unique personalities. Each "hunt" a special & unique experience. We fell in love with Francesca &... More

After visiting Italy many times in the last 20 years, I can honestly say that this was one of our most favorite activities and locations to stay. We stayed at the Black Truffle Lodge and relaxed in the village before and after the hunt. Mac is full of information about truffles and the expert Luca conducts the hunt. Afterwards, everyone... Amazing day spent on truffle hunt in Umbria. Our hosts Francesca & Mac provided an unforgettable experience. Everything from the hunt to the food (homemade pasta, cheese, sausage, olive oil, wine, etc) and the great company was perfect and the highlight of our Italian vacation. A must do for your Italian trip.

We stayed at the Black Truffle Lodge which is a new venture by the family that runs Wild Foods Italy in early October 2016. The service and meals in the lodge were fantastic. Filippo built fires in our room every night and attended to our every need. Alberto, Roberta, Francesca, Mack, Daniel and Lucca all showed us the wonders of... More

This was truly a trip to remember. The owners of this resort treated us like family and service was top notch. The whole experience from hunting truffles with amazing dogs to be entertained by pigs, donkeys, cats, dogs, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks and rabbits. I can't even express how much this trip meant to to me. Thank you to Filipino... More

This is a wonderful Umbrian experience. Mac, Franchesca and their family and friends were all wonderful. We spent 2 nights on the farm in a beautiful suite plus doing the Truffle hunt. Thank you for sharing your family and friends.

A not so very long time ago a little boy and a little girl were wandering around the mountains and hills of central Italy in their trusty horse drawn buggy named “Mr. Fiat 500”. After long hours winding around the picturesque villages of Umbria the boy and girl entered the village of Pettino. As they arrived at their destination the... More

Mac, Franchesca, Luca, Uncles, Aunts and every other member of the family was wonderful. Absolutely the high light of our trip so far. This is the genuine Umbrian farm experience with the most genuine family from Truffle Hunting to pasta making with Francesca, to grilling with Luca....every single moment was fun, real, and memorable. The only thing we are disappointed... More

Really authentic with history steeped in hundreds of years. We had a great day where we went truffle hunting and later went to see how sheep are herded in the hills and had lunch on the mountain! later we got to see how spaghetti is made and had the most wonderful prepared meal for us as we watched. it has...
