聖母マリア被昇天教会

この教会は13世紀に聖母マリア被昇天を祀るために建立されました。主祭壇にあるペルジーノが1513年に描いた「聖母被昇天図」、別名「コルチャーノの祭壇画」　226×149 cmで有名。一目でペルジーノと判る、彼の描く絵に頻繁に登場する、使い回した天使像がここでも2体、宙を飛んでいますが、保存状態は極めてよく、色彩も華麗でペルジーノの傑作でしょう。
ペルジーノの師、ベネデット・ボンフィーリが1472年に描いたペスト退散祈願の旗も祭壇画として飾ってありました。
