Catherine was a terrific guide. The overview tour gave us a good feel for the history and geography of Richmond. We brought our own bikes, and we appreciate the discount Richmond Rides offered.

Richmond Rides is an opportunity to include the whole family as long as they can ride a bike. We stopped at historical locations, and our guide was a history professor for the University who was full of information.

Greta way to experience Richmond even if you’re local. Our whole family loved it, even our children.

Having used the RVAbikeshare App to rent a free bike (cheap and very easy) to explore downtown, the river trails and Belle Isle, I decided to book myself on the Richmond Rides Church Hill tour to have a tour guide explain the history. In 35 degree heat I rode from Belle Isle to the Church Hill meeting point only to find no-one there. I tried calling, no answer. On checking my email I found they had cancelled the tour an hour earlier ‘due to heat’ but didn’t bother to phone me on my contact number. Disappointing. I imagine when they do run tours and don’t cancel they might be good. But don’t underestimate the ease of doing your own tour using the RVA bikeshare bikes.

I am very sorry that you had this experience and that we did not contact you earlier. This does not reflect our desire to provide excellent service and an excellent experience for all. When you come back to Richmond, please consider another tour and we will cover the cost. That would be really frustrating to find out it is cancelled right before and I'm very sorry for the poor communication.

Super fun bike tour along the James in Downtown Richmond!! Our fantastic tour guide, Joseph, took us from the Rocketts Landing area to around Belle Isle and back and enlightened us along the way with interesting facts about the impact of the James on Richmond's history. It was a great family outing with our teens and their friends. Everyone enjoyed it!! Highly recommend!!
