Met with Food Tour group. Got there a little early and checked the park. You can see nice views of the City Skyline and the James River. Seemed to have been a nice place to meet, have lunch or picnic with friends and family. It is in a residential neighborhood.

Always love heading up to Libby Hill Park when touring Richmond. I love the beautiful row houses in the neighborhood. There are lovely views of Richmond & the James River. It's a good destination to show folks when they are new to Richmond.

I was here for the cycling world championships and the park itself it wonderful with its cobbled streets and great views of the city and the river. Also the surrounding neighborhood is definitely worth a walk through.

it is listed under top 5 places to see in Richmond, I thought it would be some kind of place where whole Richmond downtown can be seen like in movies, but no. it's just your neighbourhood park situated in the hilly area and you can have one or two looks of downtown, more of mill area. yes, James River can be seen clearly from here. if you don't have time, you can avoid this, not that great.

On a recommendation from the docent at St. John's Church, I visited this place (located about a half-mile away).

As the story goes, the city of Richmond was named because of the view from this site. There are some great vantage points for pictures, including once of the Lucky Strike plant.

The best location to see why and where Richmond was founded. A beautiful park of rolling hills and bluffs with cobblestone streets in historic Church Hill overlooking the fall line of the James River. Tidal waters east to the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean made it possible for our earliest English explorers to travel by sail to the present location of the City of Richmond (1607). To the west are some of the prettiest falls and rapids of the James River running through the center of the city. Bike trails, walking trails, a seven mile city park start nearby and white water and flat water for kayakers and canoeists. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of the city when floating this section of the James or climbing/biking the riverside trails. William Byrd was commissioned by Mayor Mayo to lay out the original plan for the city and named it Richmond after Richmond Hill on the Thames River (now part of London). The view from Libbie Hill was very similar to the view Byrd remembered from his days at Richmond Hill as a youngster. From this bluff it's fun to imagine exactly what the native American tribe of Powhatan saw as the early colonists plied these waters. You won't be disappointed!

Libby Hill Park is a very pleasant location to sit and enjoy a view of the James River from one of the older neighborhoods in Richmond. There are flower beds and a beautiful sunset views.

Area looks very run down. Sad to see that this are is not set up for visitors and not kept up. The city has areas that are very depressed. The industrial area around the river distracts from the beauty of Richmond.

You will get one of the best views of the city from this place. Really nice place for a evening stroll or to watch a fantastic sunset behind the city skyline.
