A wonderful museum with a varied collection of furniture as well as paintings. The museum itself is a beautiful building with plantings surrounding an excellent restaurant.

The visiting Rodin exhibit is very impressive to a novice observer such as myself. Several rooms, couple of hundred pieces, some full, some fragmentary. I learned a bunch and had a good time doing it. The audio tour was most helpful.

Few Sunday's go by without my visit to the VMFA. It is truly MY time! The art exhibits are always interesting and educational. But, what is truly my favorite part is a Sunday newspaper and Blanchards coffee. Peace at last!

This beautiful general fine arts museum is one of the best in the US. Extensive Asian, American and contemporary art collections in a stunning new building with fabulous grounds. Best of all it is free.

It's hard to believe you are in little old Richmond when you sitting, having a great lunch overlooking the sculpture garden and the back of the Confederate Women's Home. Who would not be impressed... Every decade or two this museum makes another leap forward and the recent addition of the McGlothlin wing has propelled this museum forward to become a very top tier art institution in the country. The special block buster exhibits have ranged from esoteric to very accessible, while the installation design of these shows generally bests that on view in DC.... More

We recently visited Amuse the restaurant and then enjoyed a lovely stroll through the museum afterwards. We think it was great food and good service. I recommend it as a nice evening out.
