It's hard to believe this museum is free. We spent several hours in the cool air conditioning viewing the art on a very hot afternoon.

Peaceful and informative. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The museum has 3 levels. I enjoyed historical art and contemporary art displayed on the inside and outside.

I visit a few times per year. The beautiful antiques, paintings, and other displays. The fabrege eggs on display are some of the most beutiful crafted items and the VMFA has several dozen on temporary lon.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is vast and substantial. You will be amazed at the variety and mass art collections at the Museum. The yard is beautiful as well, with hours of walking space and waterfalls to love!

Very nice museum. Smaller than some, but very modern, uncrowded and nicely laid out. Staff is pleasant. Restaurant is very nice and relaxing. Also the theater is wonderful; very versatile.

This is a great place to visit and has some beautiful exhibits - inside and out. We went to see a featured exhibit - the Tibetan enlightenment- but it would cost us $30. We felt that was to much to be "enlightened, so we went...More

Not sure about the open time. It should be posted on the web site. We had tickets during the week when they were not busy and they allowed us to go in early.
