Interesting and varied permanent exhibits (their collection of Japanese woodblock prints are outstanding) and the traveling exhibits are well-worth viewing (creative use of space and good flow of traffic). Beautiful cafe.

Wonderful museum to see a wide variety of art and decorative arts. There's an amazing collection of gorgeous Tiffany lamps and Fabergé frames (and four eggs) as well as a large collection of African art that make this museum stand out. The pre-Columbian, Asian, Indian, art deco and nouveau exhibits were also unique. There's a large collection of horse-related paintings... More

We were very impressed with the diversity of galleries and will return so we can spend more time to explore, especially the grounds. A beautiful building.

We attend special showings a VMFA on a regular basis. Plenty of room and good lighting always make this an excellent venue. Whoever hangs the shows has a nice touch. Nice restaurant on site as well - good food and reasonable pricing in a comfortable setting.

The Art Nouveau collection of furniture is intriguing. This will sound crazy but even the walk to and from the parking garage is an artistic experience. I continue to enjoy visiting the VMFA.

Both the regular and special exhibits are sure to delight any visitor, serious or casual. Great place for students and children as well. VMFA is a surprisingly good museum sponsored by a medium-sized US city.

This museum is great! There are about 4 floors of free art to see, and there is a lower floor which often holds exhibits that cost about $10-$20 per person. The do have student membership options for those still in school! The museum also has a happy hour in the restaurant on Fridays, and that is really fun to check... More
