Maymont is a 100-acre American estate, an extraordinary gift given to the community by James and Sallie Dooley who lived there from 1893 to 1925. Whether strolling in the gardens, touring the mansion or watching river otters play, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Always a treat!

Seems no matter what time of year we go to Maymont there is always something beautiful to see. We appreciate all the work there to keep the grounds maintained.

I have grown up in Richmond and Maymont is such a lovely nature filled place to visit. From farm animals to a few wild animals, to plants and flowers. The waterfall and the japanese garden, Maymont is a beautiful place to visit. I love going there just to take pictures of it all. I have seen weddings under the cross... More

I loved the grounds, and the mansion. The grounds also has a kind of zoo, and an area for little ones to pet some animals. The last time I went there, we saw 2 magnificent Bald Eagles.

I've been to this park numerous times. We've taken the grandkids why were babies and toddlers to enjoy the animals in barn as well as the walking paths. The barns are easily accessed with strollers but the paths below can be a bit of a workout pushing the twins back up the hill to the parking lot. The mansion on... More

A nice, safe place to take a walk. This is the perfect place to see birds, bumble bees, flowers, and various animals in a natural setting. It is a perfect place for a family to spend the day in the park.

I took my two grand daughters for the day. They had a treasure map quest, spent time in the children's section and we had s wonderful lunch.

I have been to Richmond several times, but this was my first time visiting Maymont. I could not believe that it was free to the public. I took advantage of the house tour and I gave a donation. I went with my aunt and grandparents and they really enjoyed the garden. It's a beautiful way to spend time with family.
