This was a quick tour but informative. The guide allowed us to ask questions and he knew a lot about the history and nature side of the city. I would recommend to go to learn about the canal's history.

We had a great time on the tour. It lasts 40 minutes, but has a nice overview of the history of Richmond. Our captain was knowledgeable and was very interesting. We saw a number of turtles and a blue heron. It was fun to learn...More
The ride itself was underwhelming but the history was interesting. The canal is very small and not picturesque. Small children may enjoy the boat ride but you’ll mainly take this tour for the history lesson.
Want a good overview and orientation to Richmond? Find your way to the canal cruises right downtown.
