There are beautiful gardens everywhere - and very well labeled and kept pristine. The floral notes are amazing. Roses were healthy and very fragrant. Loved loved loved the butterflies. I do wish their 'house' was bigger. It can get crowded with everyone vying for a spot to see the butterflies up close! The orchids are amazing. Who knew there were... More

The gardens were well laid out with both sunny and shade walkways. The rose garden was beautiful as was the rows of crape myrtle lining the fountains. The conservatory was well done with the orchid exhibit but especially the butterfly house. You had to be careful walking through as the butterflies like to land on the ground and they are... More

What a beautiful place. A great variety of colourful plants set out in lovely surroundings. We found there was some lovely aromas around the gardens. The butterfly area was outstanding with so many colourful varieties ignoring the humans around them. All in all a great experience on a beautiful hot day.

This is one of the very best botanical gardens we have ever visited. The grounds are quite expansive and are well taken care of. The gift shop was SO LARGE!! Plan to spend at least an hour in the gift shop. Loved the childrens' garden as there is a HUGE area just for the kids with a massive Tree House.

Lewis Ginter is a great way to pass a lazy afternoon. It wouldn't be my top destination in Richmond if only visiting for a short period, but as a native Richmonder, you have no excuse not to get yourself to Lewis Ginter at least once. The butterfly conservatory sets it apart from similar attractions in the area. There is also... More

We went to this gardens on a lovely spring day. Weather was great. The exhibit was tied in with the VMFA floral impressionists show and was very interesting. The butterfly garden was interesting as well.

My wife and I visit Lewis Ginter from time to time to enjoy the beauty of the flowers, shrubs, trees and the many pathways throughout the facility. We learn new plant and design ideas we take back to our home. Lewis Ginter is fascinating, enjoyable, relaxing, and wondrous. Children and adults will enjoy a trip to Lewis Ginter. The facility... Wonderful way to spend a day in Richmond. Even in the July heat the gardens offer beautiful color and lots of shady spaces to relax. The volunteers and horticulturists were helpful and informative. Enjoyed a very reasonably priced lunch in the cafe. The gift shop has a great selection of garden related items.

I have been there only once but was impressed. The place is huge and so beautiful. During the summer they have many activities so be sure the check the website. It's also good to bring kids since they have playgrounds and water fountains. And on a couple of days dogs are allowed after hours. There is also a restaurant but... More
