Although we did the self guided Medieval Town and Roman Ruin tour back in June of 2018, I am writing now as we were recently a BTS repeat customer on a Mallorca tour that I'll review after this one. The Medieval tour was excellent for my wife and I. We felt all our needs were met with respect to the accommodations and the promised meals. The routes and bikes worked well for us and we did do extended routes on most occasions. The routes felt very safe and by and large, were not busy with either cars or bikes.

This summer we did a 4 day bike tour in southern Sardinia, and it was wonderful. The process was easy from start to finish. I emailed the site and Mauro was very responsive, answered my many many questions and was very organized and on top of if. The hotel we stayed at (Luci del Faro) was wonderful - beautiful location and amazing food. I biked with my husband and dad, and my mom stayed at the hotel with my kids. The closeness to the beach and the pool area made sure the kids were always entertained.
I liked that for this particular tour we stayed at one hotel and were able to do various days of biking (each very diverse) without having to pack up. The bikes provided were great and we got a packet with all the information we needed. I loved that we could go at our own pace and Mauro provided many recommendations for food and sight seeing. Would highly recommend!

In early April we took the BTS self-guided tour from Alghero to Oristano and had a wonderful time. Mauro has carefully selected routes that are scenic and less traveled. Accommodations were all very nice, and the recommendations for restaurants and sights helpful. The bikes and additional equipment were excellent and we had everything we needed. We enjoyed working with Mauro as he is straightforward and pleasant. He communicates clearly and in a timely manner. He also helped us procure bikes through a partner for a group in Sicily later in the month. We highly recommend Bike Tour Sardinia for quality and professionalism.

My husband and I did a fabulous self-guided tour of Sardinia, which Mauro customized for us based on our personal requests - perfectly meeting our brief. We were very well prepared with excellent routes and guidance and supported with great bikes and technical assistance - though we didn't need much as the bikes were also terrific.
Great hotels and restaurant recommendations, all at very fair pricing.
We look forward to traveling with Mauro's team again exploring other regions of Italy in bici.

We took a two week self guided bicycle tour of Sardinia in Sept of 2019 and loved it so much we planned another trip for Sicily in 2020 which we were finally able to experience in 2021. Mauro and his crew put together outstanding cycling routes on quiet roads and can accommodate any level of cycling. Our hotels were top notch, food and restaurant recommendations were excellent, cultural and historical notes enhanced he experience, and van support was there if needed. My husband had a catastrophic mechanical in Sicily and a rental bike was there the next morning so he could continue the tour. Rafael helped procure the necessary new part needed. Treat yourself to a BTS tour.

We have just completed a 15 day self-guided bike tour of Sicily, created by Mauro Mulas of Bike Tours Sardinia (BTS) and coordinated with his Sicilian Associate, Raffaele Pluchino of Sicily Bike Routes. This is the third self-guided bike tour that we have done with Mauro, two on Sardinia and now Sicily. I cannot say how professional well thought-out the lodgings and routing was on this trip. The hotels were amazing and the routing was through some of the most beautiful rural countryside. We thought the food on Sardinia was good, however, Sicilian food will blow you away! I was a former cycling guid with a US company and I took along 8 of our former clients and the entire trip was a delight. Wed all brought our own bikes and when one bike developed a broken crank, Raffaele of Sicily Bike Tours immediately delivered a rental bike for temporary use, while assisting in ordering a replacement carbon crank!

Having had a brilliant week with Mauro in Sardinia last year, eight of us opted for his Sicilian trip, a week on ebikes in the South East of the island. It was regarded by all as the best cycling holiday we have ever had. Mauro takes great trouble, as does his Sicilian colleague, Raffaele. Everything was thus really good: itinerary, support, quality of bikes and accommodation, ideas about food and visits, responsiveness to any questions. We look forward very much to our next trip with Mauro and Bike Tour Sardinia.

We have just returned from a wonderful week’s cycling holiday with Bike Tours Sardinia/Sicily. The accommodations lived up to their 4 star rating - we were lucky enough to be upgraded to Henry’s House Hotel in Syracusa, which was excellent. Mauro and Raffaele’s e-bikes performed without missing a beat and the ride with gps app was fantastic as were the trip notes. The Sicilians proved without exception to be helpful and charming and in the majority of cases going over and beyond to ensure our trip was memorable. Our outstanding hostess of the week was undeniably Sonya of the Portopalo Suites Hotel with her warm and enthusiastic welcome and her marvellous send-off!

I contacted Mauro to arrange a self guided bike trip for myself and my husband. We started with one of his advertised tours and extended it to fit into our 2 week trip. I had an excellent e-bike and my husband loved the road bike provided for us. The planning was made easy by Mauro who made excellent suggestions and answered all my questions by email efficiently and quickly. His hotel choice was good to exceptional - especially our first hotel - Villa Mosca - in Alghero! Each day our
luggage was transferred and in our room at our next destination before we were there!
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mauro and Bike Tour Sardinia to anyone. We’ve done several other tours with other companies and this was definitely the best one yet! Thanks Mauro. We would like to return to Sardinia one day! Stunningly beautiful island, wonderful friendly people, and excellent food and wine!

We have a place near Sordo June 30-July 7; we would like to do a 5-6 day tour in the Northern Part of the island about June 20. We are 70. Probably guided with a group. I am an experienced cyclist; my wife not so much. Self guided a possibility as well. is this doable? Do you have dates and itineraries for group tours in June yet? E-bike or tandem possibility? I speak some Italian. thank you!
