It’s usually one of the best and biggest beaches in the south of the island. I went over during ferragosto and it was not that packed. It was full of seaweed which is not common to see at that beach though. So I’d recommend it!

Wonderful land and friendly place, long beach and sand dunes, and flamingo birds not far away from Cagliari’s airport

Worth the trip along the southwest Sardinian coast and over the mountains to this isolated beach area. Beach is popular during tourist season, but there are plenty of umbrellas and beds for rent. Food and beverage service also available. Beautiful, calm water for couples and families. About 1 hour from Pula.

Porto Pino is a amazing beach with a fantastic sea and white sand. But no one took away posidonia amassed, So the beach is available in determinated areas only.

Porto Pino's beach is undoubtedly the highlight of any visit to the area. The long, sandy beach offers a mix of organised areas (with beach bars and sunbed hire) and pristine areas where independent visitors can settle down.
The shelving is very shallow, allowing inexperienced bathers to go remarkably far from shore while getting no more than chest-deep, and this also contributes to a pleasantly warm water temperature.

The beach was full of people but the sea is warm and shallow. A joyful atmosphere and soft waves. Magnificent!

The last beach we tried in the area was Porto Pina. About an hour and half west of Cagliari. We parked fairly close and walked in from the harbor. The beach was horrible. Worst I had seen. Dirty grey sand and heaps of what looks like chopped up weeds or wood chips that blew on your skin and hurt and it was very windy that day. It was absolutely packed every square inch with people anyways which I cant imagine why when there other nicer beaches. If you walk further down the beach, about half way to the sand dunes visible from the other side this is a very very long beach, the sand and water becomes clean and beautiful. Had we taken the path past the marina we would have walked here instead. This is where the paid area is but I did not inquire on the price of rental. We used the beach and water here and hung out on the sand in the back and no one questioned us. Likely cause there were 100’s of people everywhere cant imagine how one would keep track. The water is warm to start with but only ankle deep as it goes out it becomes cold but refreshing in the blistering heat. There are flecks of pink sand here too very nice. Had local beer at the restaurant just before the paid beach area. Very nice ambiance and in the shade and breeze.

Nice long beach with white sand, blue water and bars. Moderate deep of water, nect to the town. Quite suitable for runners. The beach I would recommend, however the parking area next to beach was again a night mare - people do not speak other language than Italien or Sardinien and again tried to charge our van as camper. Actually I do not understand what all these people around Sardinia thinks about furgons and vans. Maybe that we hide money printer inside.
This was quite common experience over the whole Sardinia - people do not expect non-italian tourists, cannot speak any world-spoken languange and always try to get some extra money from van drivers expecting them to be campervans. Sad.

Head for "le Dune di Porto Pino", but make sure to check forecast. Do not need to bring anything as there are plenty of facilities. Do not go if windy.

I returned after 53 years... What can I say, any photography or video is not able to express all the beauty of the dunes seen with your own eyes. A power of nature, beautiful!!
