Ignore the crowded beaches and hike the trails though some of the most amazing rock formations that you will ever see. An added bonus is all the little hidden coves where you can go for a swim.

We did the beach at Cala Spinoza and drove around the Capo Testa area. It can be crowded during the day in season,. We had arrived 400+ and had drinks and a small bite at Sea Lounge bar and even then parking was tough. Several beach options and all are beautiful

We chose to walk from Santa Teresa, which was part on the road, and partly on paths that run alongside, about 5km in all. There are a couple of beaches about half way along which are very nice. Depending on the wind direction you can choose a sheltered one.
There is a regular bus service in high season, but like everything else in Sardinia, doesn't start until 15th June.
The rock formations are interesting, and the views terrific.

We loved the rugged coastline, for those who know Brimham Rocks imagine those standing on the shore of a turquoise sea, and the spring flowers added beauty to the drama.

Stunning and magnificent landscape, where rocks meet at the same time wind, sea and skies, mixed together in a hard rock opera, to visit in a windy day when big black waves slam strongly into bizarre windsculpted rocks.

I've gone to Capo Testa by feet from Santa Teresa di Gallura; it's a 2 hours walk, and you can see the archaelogical site of Lu Brandali (Bronze Age Village) in the meantime. You find the Santa Reparata Bay, on the right of the bridge, where wind can't blow and you take a refrigerating bath in the plain water. Then, after the bridge, you walk across the village and arrive at the end of the road, where a lighthouse arises. Little after it, the path divides itself in many traces, going into the rocky zone of Capo Testa. Lunar landscape, with giant, white big blocks of granite; one of them gives the name to this point, because of its particular shape that looks like a head ones ("Testa" means "Head" in Italian). You can easily climb one of these high rocks in the wind and enjoy the panorama of the strong waves that hammer the coast, seeing the Corsica in front of you. Wonderful. Don'forget, coming back, to take a look at the sweet Cala Spinosa (it's a pity they've built a restaurant there, in my opinion).

We walked using the scenic trail from St Teresa Gallura to Capo Testa which is 2 mile moderate hike. However you are rewarded with a strip either side of beautiful beach which is less crowded. However the waters do seem to be a bit rocky and choppy so bear that in mind with smaller/younger children.

Cane here just to look on a windy day, stunning views and great beaches, pretty busy to get to lighthouse but not impossible, parking available for beaches on side of road or pay to park 1.5 euros per hour

We parked the car along the street and climbed down the hill to the two small calas. It is steep and narrow, but not that far. Then climbed som rocks to find a free spot to put our towels down. Ended up under a huge rock for shadow. Lovely water and fine snorkling!
