After visiting the castle and Chiesa di Santa Maria delle Grazie we visited this late Gothic church from 16. century. It was rebuilt in 17.century and got a colourful marble main-altar in 19.century. It’s worth visiting. From here we had a breathtaking view.

My wife and myself have recently visited CastelSardo and having walked upto the top of the Citadel (hard to miss and which offers panoramic views) it is hard not to see the nearby Gothic Cathedral and to head in that direction en route back to the town centre.

It is certainly worth doing so for the delightful streets in the Old Town - many of which are still fully inhabited - and, of course, the Cathedral and Crypt.

Don’t miss out on any of the many things the Old Town has to offer!

We stopped at a grocery store in town and grabbed some drinks, and items to make sandwiches then made our trek to the top where the cathedral is. It's a nice walk up, and the scenery is breathtaking. What a great spot to sit and have a picnic with friends.

Nice walk in the narrow streets around the main hill.
Better leave the car down and walk up the stairs to the top of the hill where from a fortress-like construction you can overlook the town, it's port, and the coast on both sides, During the Summer it is a hot climb, and by the time you reach the top, you'll be probably soaked wet. Even inside the churches (which are all quite nice and give a true impression of local culture and history) it is not much cooler. There a few souvenir shops and several restaurants. People are nice and welcoming, it is worthwhile to stop for a bite, some drinks, continue for a short walk in the maze of small roads were around every corner you wonder what might come. We enjoyed this town a lot.

The lady selling tickets was clear: if you come to pray there is free entrance, if you wish a guided tour including access to the crypt it costs a ticket. The ticket can be shown at the Stregoneria Eresie e Santa Inquisizione and will give you a discount of 25% there.
The church is nice and quickly done... Then the guide took us down to the crypt and this was interesting to see! The visit includes going up a very narrow passage, I would skip this part but the crypt is still interesting to see..

Two friends of mine got married here in July 2015. The church is at the edge of the sea with gorgeous views. The only problem was it was mid-July and there were no fans or circulation. If you visit during the summer, be prepared to sweat.

Great spot for taking photos.

There is lots to see in the old town and this is definitely worth a visit. Some interesting exhibits but the main attraction are the fantastic views glad I visited
