Best view of the city of Castelsardo!

I found we really didn't get enough time here - we didn't realize at first that it was an actual museum and thought it was more like single walk-through of a ruin. The best part... read more

I agree that traditions have to be preserved and shown to the public, but without giving additional information and without being enthousiastic to show stuff, a museum doesn't have any sense. I got there willing to visit the castle as first goal, and randomly found this exposition. No extra information was given to me. Most of the handcraft shown there... More

I found we really didn't get enough time here - we didn't realize at first that it was an actual museum and thought it was more like single walk-through of a ruin. The best part was the views on the top of the fortress - when the sky is clear seeing the town and the shore and the sea from... More

The museum / castle in Castelsardo houses a very interesting historical basket collection. From the top there are good views of the surrounding area. 3E pp. Allow 30- 45 minutes.

I'm sorry to say we found this museum to be extremely boring. They've gone to a lot of trouble to present various aspects of the basket-weaving traditions in Sardinia, but it's still a snoozefest. Great views can be had from the various terraces and bars on the castle rock, so there's no need to visit the castle itself.

We had a nice time here, we visited the castle on a nice sunny day which made for some awesome views on the top of the hill. Unfortunately there is almost no literature to read just a few sign posts, a shame really as I would have paid for it since we drove for an hour to reach the site.

Very interesting displays inside the Castle at Castelsardo, where we have seen several women working in their kitchens/lving rooms/front gardens in this traditional way to make baskets.

The Castle is really nice and the views are breathtaking - mind you that could have been the climb - the actual museum is nothing but baskets!

If you are staying in Castelsardo then you really should visit the castle. The entry fee into the museum is €2 each. Not much in the museum apart from wicker baskets but it worth the money just for the views out onto the town and the sea.
