You can climb up it and look at the views of the ocean, but that's about the long and short of it. Views are nice, plan on spending about 15 minutes here.

Torre di San Gemiliano is located at Capo Carbonara near Arbatax off the SS125 at Tortoli. There is plenty of free car parking and a nice cafe nearby. The views of the surrounding area are stunning, especially from the top of the tower which can only be accessed by a metal ladder (not for the infirm !!)…

I think the fascination of this place lies as much in the beautiful views as in the tower itself. We did not even climb to the tower (it had steep iron ladders), but rather enjoyed the 360-degree views to the sea and shores.

Rhe tower is visible from all around the beach areas but is bigger than you expect once you approach it. Climb the ladder to enter and get great views and release the photographer lurking inside you with clever shots of the windows framing views, loved ones etc.

If you're not afraid of heights and don't always need a safety line, climb the metal ladder and you'll get an excellent view from the top.
