Lovely building and employees with a huge selection of books either in-house or at other satellite locations.

The children's room is the best! Easy for your kids to roam free, be a little loud and pick out whatever they want to read (and check out). They have storytimes for both babies and preschoolers but note that parents queue up early for both and they fill up so be prepared to get in line in advance. Across the street is Darwin's cafe which is a great spot to pop over for lunch and extend your visit. Bonus awesome is a very cheap underground garage just for library visitors. If it's a warm day, bring a frisbee or ball for your kids to play out front or on the playground.

This is the mother ship of an outstanding library system. The environment is superb and easily navigated, both in the original structure and the addition. Front desk service is friendly and efficient, and once you join, you'll be hard pressed to name a book you can't order online to be delivered to this branch or any other for pickup. Inter-library loans are practically instantaneous.

Main Cambridge University Library is amazing , where you can get books published in 17th Century till date more or less to all topics published in any where from History to Modern science but one should go with some spare time to fully explore the library as it is such a huge set up which one can't explore with very short spane of time like 1 -2. i recommend to visit this precious Knowledge bank when ever some one visit Cambridge. i feel lucky to visit this great library of the world.

The new part (or relatively new) of Cambridge Public Library is refreshing, with natural light and airy spacious feel. Really enjoyable to spend time reading there.

It does not require long but a glance inside at the building & its decorations are fun and worth 15-30 minutes of your time. We did not use it but there is a good cafe inside.

It's no Boston Public Library but it'll do! The lawn out front is full of families and dogs and is a nice place to sit and read when you need a break from all of the concrete and bricks. The inside is large with a very decent selection of books. The staff are friendly and willing to help.

The first thing that will strike you about this library is its design- with lots of windows, it maintains a perfect combination of expressing modernity while respecting its historical location and past. Large reading room on the first floor, ample video section. There is an outdoor patio seating area, but get there early as seats near electrical outlets can go fast on nice days. The first floor also has seating area inside where eating and chatting is allowed. The Cambridge Library is a good stop if you are a long- term visitor or simply in the area and would like a nice place to relax and enjoy a small snack or lunch. In the summer months, the front lawn is generally well-poplated with people enjoying the beautiful weather. If you are lucky, you may catch actors rehearsing a play or perhaps sword-fighting as occured during one of our visits. A playground suitable for small children is located on the grounds. Tip: if you wonder where to grab a snack, Starbucks is located acorss the street about 1/4 mile or check out Darwin's on the street behind the library for one of the most delious sandwiches in the area.

This is a beautiful library that has successfully blended a gorgeous old building with a modern and light-filled addition. There is a large children's area, active teen room and a lovely wood paneled reading room.

I confess, I came to the library looking for a place to do some work, rather than check out a book. As a work space, it's great - the new building is light and airy, with good wifi and plenty of electrical outlets.
