Step away from your screens and laptops and take a refreshing power walk around Fresh Pond. Free and fun. Grab your canine companion and get out on the trail which winds around this large pond. Stop and watch the water fowl. Fling a frisbee for your dog and enjoy the quiet sunshine. Path is about 2 miles around on fairly... More

A real little oasis. Beautiful to walk or run in the trees. And at 10am on Saturdays there is a free times run - either one lap around the pond (2.5mi) or 2 laps (5mi). There are also lots of Ranger-supported nature events at the weekend for all of the family - see the noticeboard by the Water Works. Also... More

The quiet path shaded by trees hosts numerous dogs and walkers. It is too busy for serious bikers, but ok for kids cruising along or slower biking. There is an extra path that follows the water the whole way and extends the path a little to 2.5 miles around the pond.

Fresh Pond Reservation, though it houses Cambridge's drinking water is a great place to take a walk, explore nature and simply enjoy a respite from the hustle and bustle that make Cambridge, MA a great place to be. I have been to the Reservation many times, for many reasons and never regret the time there. If you are an exercise walker,... More

A circular walk or bike ride of over 2 miles around the city reservoir, with birds, a dog bathing pond, and great beauty. Only downer is the chainlink fence between you and the water.

Very popular place for runners, dog walkers, and kids on trikes. Nice breeze off the water. Great views. There is a "dog pond" near the golf course which my dog looks forward to. Bonus: there is a wide field just for dogs near the pumping station. Parking can be a challenge unless you are a Cambridge resident with a city... More

Fresh Pond in the reservoir for Cambridge, but don't be put off by all the dogs. The water is purified before it gets to the tap. The walk around the pond takes about an hour at an easy pace and is very quiet and pretty. It seems a world away from the rest of Cambridge. As you walk, think about... More

The old saying 'the best things in life are free' applies to this oasis in the lovely city of Cambridge. I went for a walk in this gorgeous park with my friends and a couple of dogs. I was delighted with the amount of green space, flora and fauna. I was able to take photos of some flowers that were... More

Wonderful peaceful area set in the middle of very busy areas but quiet enough to find that perfect spot. Run, bike, walk - it's up to you. Some pet areas available also. Walk around the "pond" and enjoy a walk that is worth the effort but not exhausting.

a great place to walk, run, walk your dog and commune with nature. Bucolic, relaxing and restorative. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of an urban environment.
