We were driving to Landeyjahöfn and took a quick detour. It's only a 5 minute trip from the main road (Route 1) and it took around 15 minutes from the parking lot, around the waterfall and back. We've been there a few times but it never gets old, and the kids love it. I recommend waterproof clothing (because of the mist from the waterfall) and good shoes. On the way out from the cave there is a little climb in the rocks. Our 4 year old needed support, so it's probably best to have an adult accompanying each kid under 5 :)

Don't forget to visit the second waterfall that is hidden in a cave , only a short walk from Seljalandsfoss! If you wear your rain clothes you can get really close! If not, you can, too, but will be soaked :-D!
