- Mary GPensacola, Florida123 contributionsA young lady from Sweden gave us our stable tour. Very sweet. We learned a lot about Icelandic horses and were able to watch others ride in the ring. Got to pet many horses and Max the dog. My older daughter loved it. A nice break from the long hikes and walking around the waterfalls.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 8, 2024
- Krzysztof CembrzyńskiWarsaw, Poland6 contributionsWe had a great ride on Icelandic horses there led by Ida. The farm is beautifully located among low hills and pastures, where some more than 100 horses live in practically undisturbed freedom. I was a first time rider, nevertheless the trip was safe and fully controlled. Ida tells interestingly about the farm, horses and Iceland itself. It is must do stopover while visiting this part of the island. It must be fun for experienced riders exploring vast and scenic spaces around the farm and the beginners, such as myself.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 30, 2024
- Lorrie PNorristown, Pennsylvania7 contributionsVery friendly and also professional riding experience. Tour guides were very helpful, facility was clean and welcoming, even gave us a hot drink afterwards. Guide got off and took pix of me on horseback on top of a lovely hay field. Anya and Duk were top notch!Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten November 10, 2024

My wife, my son and I stayed two nights in Panorama House in early July. My wife and ten year old son had an introductory ride on 8 July prior to taking the all day, “Under the Volcano” ride on 9 July. They enjoyed their rides so much that if it were up to them we would have spent the next twelve days doing the, “Under the Volcano” ride every single day.
In every aspect of our stay from the rides themselves through to the excellence and professionalism of the guides, the farm manager Johanna, the impeccable training put on the horses, and the excellent standard of accommodation this was a 10/10 experience.....by far the best overall series of experiences combined with accommodation we experienced in two weeks in Iceland, including a couple more riding days later in our trip.
We run a large, high end horse boarding and buy/sell operation in the US so we know of what we speak. If you’re a horse enthusiast keen to see excellent and well trained Icelandic horses combined with a well run farm go to Icelandic Horse World/Farm Skeidvellir. You won’t be dissappointed.

We stayed on the farm and had really great riding lessons from Katrín and lovely relaxing rides out in the beautiful landscape. We highly recommend this combination as well as shorter and longer tours and stable visits. The horses were so well-trained and comfortable and we had a lovely welcome. Everything was perfect. Thank you all!

Our family of 3, of which our daughter, who is 11 years old, had 4 lovely days with you. You have beautiful and good horses that gave us a fantastic experience both in terms of riding and with regard to the spectacular nature that is in Iceland. In addition, all of you who work for you are very nice and talented people. The house we stayed in was newly renovated and very nice.

The riding holiday package was spectacular. The farm is beautiful with views of volcanoes and glaciers, abundant bird life, and verdant fields. Katrín and everyone at the farm were welcoming, friendly, and so knowledgeable about the Icelandic horse. We stayed at the Villa, which was comfortable, convenient, and spacious for two of us. The riding tours were magical. The group was small—just four of us plus one or two guides. The horses were carefully chosen for our abilities, and they were such fun to ride. The scenery was pristine and beautiful. I hope I will be able to return some day!

I've been riding since I was a kid and consider myself an experienced rider. But riding the Icelandic Horses was a completely different experience as they have the special "tölt" gait, which is achieved by the way the rider sits. The gait was gentle, yet faster than a trot. The amazing thing is that at the end of the ride, my knees, which usually ache after riding two hours, didn't hurt at all. Our guides were Emma and another young woman. Both were delightful. We rode for two hours (32 degrees farenheight). It was a very nice way to spend the morning.

Our children had a wonderful time at Icelandic HorseWorld. Our eldest daughter did the Mountains and Meadows tour and was very happy afterwards. She had a wonderful time riding in the beautiful nature surrounding the stable. The tour guide was very welcoming, when we arrived at the stable and friendly and helpful all the time. Our younger daughter did the stable combo, which was great. She learned a lot about Icelandic horses. It's a wonderful stable to visit and perfect to get to know Icelandic horses.

I booked onto the 2 hour country ride where riding experience was necessary. I rode with 4 America that were very inexperienced riders. We mostly walked for the 2 hours with a few short tolts. Give this place a miss if your a good rider. Tourist trap. To be fair the horses are nice and the guides did their best.

We did the stable visit and our children had a ride inside on the Icelandic horses. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the venue was very well kept. We were offered hot chocolate and coffee afterwards which was a nice touch. The kids loved the experience of brushing and riding the Icelandic horses. Highly recommend.

Icelandic Horseworld is the place for you who like a nice ride on good horses. The stable has horses and rides for both beginners and more experienced riders. Talk to the staff when booking or when you arrive.
The guides/tour leaders are also very good and service minded.
Our family has gone horse riding here several times. We give the place, the horses and the staff our best recommendations!

this was such an amazing experience, it actually inspired me to sign up for horseback writing in the states. A gorgeous drive through horse country. The stables are clean and lovely! We did a private ride through the meadows and loved every minute of it. The instructors are absolutely wonderful, so helpful, patient, fun, and put as at ease. Vilda was our instructor and we absolute loved her!!! The horses are so lovely! You even get to try out another gate other than walking. The views are stunning!! I highly, highly recommend them!

1. Do your horses have a limit of weight they can carry? If so, what is it? I weigh about 98 Kg and my wife weighs about 71 Kg.
2. What are your rates charged for riding the horses and how long in time and distance may they be ridden?
Written February 2, 2015
Hello John, Thank you for your question. The weight would not be a problem. The horses are strongly built. We offer different kind of tours regarding distance in the summer time from 1 hour up to a whole day tour and then during the winter time we offer 1 hour tours. We start all our tours in the riding hall before we ride out so that the rider can get to know the horses and get a short lesson. Afterwards we invite the riders for a cup of coffee or tee in our cafeteria. Please contact us for bookings or further information at info@iceevents.is
