Our family of five (three sons, 20, 20, 16) wanted to explore Iceland and the boys certainly hoped for fun adventure. We had an amazing trip and Southcoast Adventures really defined our trip as exciting, fun, and memorable. Sigga was a tremendous help in helping me plan our trip! We had informative guides that gave us great information about the land that we were exploring. Jon (his Icelandic name was super hard to pronounce, but he is their rock star) picked us up from the airport the first day at 7am, and we were off to see the Golden Circle. Jon was fun to spend the day with and authentically seemed to enjoy driving us to the amazing sites. It was Dec. 30 and definitely colder than the temperatures stated in Reykjavik. (There was a strong cold wind and it was cold! Definitely wear ski pants, ski shells, hats, mittens, etc.)
Stefan picked us up the next day and continued to be our guide for the next three days. Amazing! The boys especially loved Stefan who would sing and be his funny self while also driving the super jeep, bringing us dune buggying, and snowmobiling. The landscape was incredible even in January. The top of the glaciers where we snowmobiled through deep snow and had incredible views was a highlight.
