I can't recall exactly how long but it was certainly a full day and we never felt that we were 'up against the clock'. If we wanted to stay somewhere a bit longer, or move on, then that was fine. Very accommodating tour and I'm sure that they would accommodate your needs.
Due to restricted daylight hours in December, I'd guess that we were picked up from our apartment at around 9.00 am and returned to central Reykjavik at around 5.00 pm.
