On our first couple of days in Iceland we planned to do a bit of the coast and this was our first stop out of Grindavik. Sadly we could only stop for as long as we could take the weather, it was snowy, SO windy...More

Awesome place where you can see how savage and powerfull could be nature and ocean. We went there during a storm and it was absolutely amazing to see the ocean and the powerfull waves hitting the coast and throwing water several meters high!

The waves kept crashing into the rocks on the shore. We didn't get wet. Even though the temperature was below freezing, nothing was freezing.

The weather was windy during our visit which only magnified the crashing and roaring of the waves. Such a wild and majestic place.

A harsh piece of Icelandic coastline with few lava pools. No admission fee to this place so it's convenient just to stop by.

We decided to do the circle around the peninsula south of the airport (near Blue Lagoon) and this was stop one. It was very windy so the waves were spectacular. Couldn't get too close without getting wet, but it was stunning. Free and free parking.

Another stop on our tour around Iceland. It is easy to find with easy parking. Worth a visit. You can’t get too close due to the incredible waves.

This place is simply insane when it’s cold and windy. A short visit conveys the fury and power of Mother Earth as demonstrated by the ginormous waves smashing against the rocks and the wind spattering salt water in your face. Bring your camera and a...More

Brimketill at first glance is a bit of an out of the way place, a bit of a detour from the golden circle - but not a long drive from the Blue Lagoon if you are heading that way. It is a stunning and eerie...More
