Visited this nice cathedral when on the way to Hella. Very unique. There is a small hut with grass roof beside the cathedral.

Nice little church that we visited during our golden circle tour. The basement of the church has stones/artifacts so make sure you check them out. There's also a tunnel that takes you outside from the basement. It's a small tunnel so tall people will have...More

This is a place we have driven past a few times but never stopped at until today. This is a pretty little cathedral with a history. There is a small museum underneath which tells you about this history.

This church (cathedral) is the latest of several built on this spot through the centuries. While the church may seem Stark it has beautiful modern stained glass windows and houses a small museum in the basement. Entrance to the church is free but 500 IKR...More

Pretty church; Very plain outside but the stained glass windows are SPECTACULAR. Great location. Much history surrounds the church's background. Definitely worth a visit.

The history of this cathedral helps you understand how Iceland was once a Catholic nation. Visit the sod house behind the church.

This is a beautiful example of an early Icelandic church. The location is stunning. You can also enjoy an original sod house where you can also look inside it. As you can see from the small number of reviews, not many people know about this...More

The church stood out as one of the prettiest ones we visited. As well, there is a lot of history surrounding this location. The information center and excavation around the church offers more information that provides more information on the religious background of Iceland. Overall,...More

The big new cathedral is interesting, but even more so for me was the sod church by its side. Definitely worth a stop to see something a bit different.
