Tried to visit here on a weekday in May of 2021. Park is open till 8 pm. Monument and Tomb barricaded off ans said that they were closed. You could not go in the Tomb or access the top. Absolutely no one in the area so they cannot say it was limiting traffic due to covid.

the lincoln tomb is a worthy place to visit wile in town.IT should be on every visitors list who is here to see and explore all things lincoln. if you enter through the main gate, the memorial will be up the hill on your right. You can drive your car in and around the cemetery so you dont have to walk. When you arrive , there will be a guard placing people in line to go inside and see the tomb. You know the whole social distancing thing with covid and all. wile inside they did a very good job with the way things are displayed . there are public restrooms here for your use. as a side note, you can not walk up on the monument do to the covid restrictions. Wile you are here it would be worth your time to drive into the cemetery and see the war memorials just down the road (there will be markers to show the way). we spent just over an hour here.

The tomb is a nice place to visit for a look at Lincoln history but not much else beyond that. Be sure to get on the wait list as soon as you arrive or via the Illinois state historic site website. The cemetery grounds are well kept and there is a bathroom available nearby.

...I was just a few feet away from the bones of the greatest being that ever lived (no it wouldn't be Jesus). Beautiful start of spring; the landscape is getting green, and it's so nice to be outside in this amazing historic cemetery. And America's greatest cult of personality figure is buried here. Statues and granite and concrete and marble in abundance here. It's a good, safe, peaceful, comforting place to come. Don't miss it if you're on the road like me.

When you enter Oak Ridge Cemetery, the first commemorative sites would be Vietnam Veterans Memorial, World War 1 and World War 2 Memorials, and the Korean War Memorial, and all of them are definitely worth visiting. A very impressive Lincoln Tomb (dedicated 1874) is located in a very beautiful part of the cemetery - on a hill near Spring Creek. The monument (architect Larkin G. Mead) is a very powerful, granite structure, with a 117-ft tall obelisk. The base of the obelisk is surrounded with four bronze statues, representing the infantry, navy, artillery and cavalry of the Civil War of 1861-1865, and in front of the obelisk there is the statue of Abraham Lincoln. In front of the monument, there's also a pedestal with a sculptural representation of Lincoln's head by sculptor Gutzon Borglum. During the time of our visit, Lincoln Tomb seemed to be closed for visitors; we admired the fascinating historical monument from outside. Driving around the cemetery is very easy, it's well marked, and ample , spacious parking is available everywhere. All the War Memorials and Lincoln Tomb leave a very strong, memorable, long-lasting impression.
