Washington Park Botanical Gardens has a plethora of different plant species. This is a well-kept, free-of-charge venue. Periodically, they have special events and sales of plants. It is also located near the carillon, and the Carillon Festival is another very enjoyable activity!

Visited on a hot day in June. The plants worth a visit. I was a bit disappointed with the rose garden outside and they needed some care.

The inside part is small but nice. The outside part consist of a nicely arranged garden with beautiful roses and a variety of other flowers and plants.

We concentrated on the Carillon and the playground. Both were excellent. The playground seemed to have some equipment that could be dangerous but the kids seemed to like it. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean. We also had a picnic at the table. It wa a good experience.

Whether one is there to listen to the Carillon, take a walk through the grounds, picnic, or just to enjoy peaceful surroundings, it won't be disappointing. There is beauty there every season. Great place to take photos as well.

Lot to see, lots of people milling about, was kind of difficult to find, but I didn’t drive nor navigate there, so out of my hands. Nice place to relax.

If you are gardener or just like strolling through gardens and relaxing, this is a great place to spend a couple of hours. If you like roses, you will love seeing hundreds of roses placed in the terraces around the gardens.

My daughter just moved to the Washington Park area and we happened in on the Pumpkin carving last weekend. You go and carve pumpkins on Friday and then you go back on Saturday and pay $6 or $7 to get in to look at all the carved pumpkins (it is WELL WORTH IT!) Then we went back on Sunday and... More
